A pioneering voice Like most theatres, Hull Truck Theatre brings local people, artists and audiences closer together through their theatre that’s rooted in the North East, but national in reach.

They produce and present exciting and culturally relevant theatre at their 440-seat theatre in Hull, as well as within the community and out on tour.

We have been working with them for over 10 years on brand identity, image creation and web design.

This major advertising campaign which involved photography and digital, to promote Hull Truck Theatre at the heart of Hull City of Culture 2017.

Increasing box office sales The artwork and illustration that we’ve developed for all aspects of Hull Truck’s programmes is perfect for eye-catching advertising, no matter what format – in print, online, large or small. Strong colours, combined with unconstrained images, make a striking impression to draw in wider audiences.

IntroducIng SpotLIght – Hull Truck Theatre’s new partnership scheme that helps organisations develop their brand and directly support cutting-edge drama and community engagement during UK City of Culture 2017 and beyond.

Where the exceptional becomes transformational Hull Truck Theatre played a pivotal role in Hull City of Culture 2017, and needed. The ambition of their ‘Year of Exceptional Drama’ translated into a creative for every show that would pack an immediate emotional punch and work across multiple channels, beckoning the viewer to find out more and experience the show for themselves.

Our design team transformed simple photoshoots into powerful images that encapsulated the key themes of each show in a style that is contemporary and appealing, while also enriching the user experience.

Continuing to draw the crowd Our designers at The Graphic Design House always explore the essence and personality of each show, then using intriguing visual hooks, they captivate the characterisation and an emotional pull, to bring audiences to the shows.

The completed Jack Lear artwork created from intial moodboard and research.

A photoshoot of the Jack Lear character was commissioned and incorporated into the final design.

The show artwork is rolled out on to all marketing collateral and promotion.
