At The Henley College we understand the importance of developing and nurturing employability skills in our students to prepare them for their futures. Through the College's extensive industry network and advisory boards, research shows that in addition to formal qualifications, employers actively seek a specific range of skills. The College will help every student with the development of those employability skills such as, Creativity, Awareness, Resilience, Decision Making, Teamwork and Self-Organisation.

Noel Wood Curriculum Leader

"I have been passionate about manufacturing since a young age and after school secured a position as a toolmaking apprentice. During my apprenticeship, I made plastic injection mould tools for companies like Hasbro, Nissan and the MoD, along with studying mechanical engineering at college. I have a lot of experience and knowledge of manufacturing and engineering in general and I love explaining things, and teaching allows me to combine these elements.

Part of my role at the College is to deliver lessons in manufacturing skills, team work and additive manufacturing. I’m a passionate believer in learning by doing, and The Henley College gives students the opportunity to gain valuable, practical experience in workshop and lab environments. The other part of my role is to talk to employers to find ways to help create engaging real world lessons and experiences to enhance student learning. Employer engagement is key to the continued success of our students after studying at The Henley College."
