We mail around 350 thousand items a week using all the main service providers. We’re members of Royal Mail’s Strategic Mail partnership, created to raise standards in the mailing industry, and are really good at saving our clients money.

SUSTAINABLE THINKING W

hile paper is one of the most recycled products on the planet, printing on recycled paper isn’t always an option. With commercial budgets squeezed from all angles, the extra cost of using recycled paper (typically 40%), may put it beyond your reach. If sustainability is important to your brand values, you might like to consider more affordable options.

• Carbon balanced paper

You pay to offset the carbon emissions generated in the production of the paper you use. We can arrange this for you with the help of our paper suppliers and the World Land Trust

• Carbon offsetting

You can pay to offset all the carbon emissions generated in the production of your printed materials, from paper to the finished product. Again, this is achieved through the World Land Trust and arranged by us.

• Advertise your support of sustainable forestry

Because we’re certified under the Forest Stewardship Council and only use FSC® certified paper, we can trace all our paper back to sustainably managed forests. By adding our registered FSC® logo (license code C141094) to your printed materials, you’re able to continue that chain of evidence.

• Avoiding waste

An easy way to reduce the environmental impact of your marketing activities is to avoid printing and mailing more than you need. By taking advantage of The Mailing People’s free data audit service, you can test the quality of your data, without obligation. Often, the cost of cleaning your data is significantly less than the savings you make on the cost of your print, fulfilment and postage.

As a group, we are all mindful of our environmental impact. All waste materials are recycled. Aluminium plates, metal ink tins, and plastic ink cartridges, the ink itself, paper, cardboard, plastic wrapping and wooden pallets.

OTHER STEPS WE HAVE TAKEN INCLUDE:

Installation of 1,500 solar panels on our 85,000 square foot roof, reducing our use of fossil fuels and our carbon footprint by offsetting 2,842 tonnes of CO2 per year.

Our house paper stock does not use chlorine in the bleaching process and is produced in European mills meeting the highest environmental standards.

Investment in optional Inpress Control technology to reduce our make-ready paper waste by one third .

We use vegetable based lithographic printing inks.

Whenever possible, we use paper-based packaging instead of plastics.

We have begun transitioning our hybrid delivery fleet of 10 vehicles to a fully electric fleet, and have installed 4 fast charging points onsite. 12% of direct delivery addresses are currently serviced by electric vehicles.

ISO 14001 certification in Environmental Management Systems. We believe that responsible, ethical and professional business practice should be central to all our operations and day-to-day activities.
