4. CLIMATE OF EUROPE There are several climates in Euope and they are influenced by these factors: 1. LATITUDE: nearly all Europe is i the temperate zone. 2. THE SEA: It make climates milder 3. WIND: West wind predominate and push areas of low pressure from the Atlantic to the coasts.


4. CLIMATE OF EUROPE TEMPERATE CLIMATES 1. OCEANIC CLIMATE: Along the West of Europe from Portugal to Scandinavia Temperatures are mild all year round Precipitacion is egular and abundant, especially near the coast. 2. MEDITERRANEAN CLIMATE: It is located in the South of Europe in regions bordering the Mediterranean. Summers are hot and dry Winters are cool Rainfall is abundant in spring and autumn 3. CONTINENTAL CLIMATE: It is found in central and eastern Europe Hot summers Cold wonters There is moderate rainfall, mainly in the summer


4. CLIMATES OF EUROPE COLD CLIMATES

1. POLAR CLIMATE: - Near the Arctic Circle, in the northern regions of Iceland, Norway, Finland and Russia. - Low temperatures during a long winter - Short summer - Precipitation is scarce and falls as snow 2. HIGH MOUNTAIN CLIMATE: - It is found in the main European mountain ranges - Temperatures fall and precipiation is greater as altitude increases.


4. CLIMATE OF EUROPE DRY AND HOT CLIMATES 1. STEPPE CLIMATE: - It is found to north and south of the Caucasus. - Precipitation is scarce. - Temperatures are hig in summer and very low in winter. 2. SUB-TROPICAL CLIMATE: - It is the climate of the Canary Islans, which is in the tropical zone - Temperatures are mild - Precipitation is scarce.
