6. COASTAL LANDSCAPES - Water has an inportant role in the formation of coastal landscaps. Types: 1. MANGROVES: They are coastal seawater habitats in the tropics. Vegetation: - mangrove trees (adapted to saltwater). Fauna: - in the mangrove trees: fish, reptiles and birds. - in the trees twisted roots: small animals such as crabs.

2. WETLANDS: They are areas of land such as marshes that are partly covered by water. Wetlands may have: saltwater, fresh water or a mixture in he land is close to a river estuary. Vegetation: aquatic plants adapt to this enviroment Fauna: insects and birds that feed on the insects. 3. COASTAL DUNES They are formed where sand accumulates in he sea and the wind blows it inland. Dunes are mounds of sand, caused by the wind. Fauna: is scarce: reptiles and rodents.
