7. HUMAN INFLUENCE ON LANDSCAPES - Our natural envionment is vital to us: - Most of he world’s population lives in regions where food is grown easily. Few people live in deserts or mountains. - We need fresh water for human consumption and agriculture - We need to breathe unpolluted air.

- Humans change their environment all the time: - They built roads and cities - Agriculture and mining transform landscapes. - It is important hat these changes don’t cause long- term harm , we need to have a sustainable development.


7. HUMAN INFLUENCE ON LANDSCAPES ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS 1. -

AIR POLLUTION: Caused by gases released by industry and traffic. This causes problems: - acid rain - depletion of the ozone layer - greenhouse effect

2. CLIMATE CHANGE: It ‘s connected to air pollution. Global warming will cause glaciers and polar ice caps to melt and will raise the level of the oceans.Desertification will increase. 3.VEGETATION: We cut down millions of trees every year. Deforestation causes soil erosion and a loss of biodiversity It may cause desertification. 4. WATER: - Pollution of rivers and lakes affect agriculture and livestock.
