1. THE ORIGINS OF HUMAN BEINGS -

PREHISTORY It is the earliest nd longest period of history. It covers all human history until writing ws invented, about 5,000 years ago. It includes the study of hominids, who where the ancestors of modern human beings. As there aren’t written records, prehistory examine remains like bones, tools and cave paintings.

Human beings acquired their current characteristics during their evolution over a lomg period of time. This process is called hominisation:

- 1. Hominids learned to walk upright on two legs, as a consequence their hands became free to use tools. - 2. When they discoverednfire, they learned to cook. Consequently, they ate softer food, and their jawbones and teeth became smaller. - 3. The skulls of hominids grew bigger and their brain size also increased. This help them: - to think creatively - To acquire language - -to communicate
