3. THE PALEOLITHIC AGE - The Paleolithic Age (or old stone age) lasted from 2.5 million years ago to 10,000 years ago. - There were very cold periods and for that reason many parts of the Earth were covered in ice, but other periods were milder. As a consequence early humans learnt to adapt to the changes in their natural enviroments. LIFESTYLE IN THE PALEOLITHIC AGE - 1. Early humans hunted, fished and gathered fruitand mollusk. - 2. They were nomads, because they move around in groups to find food. - 3. They lived in shelters and sometimes in caves. - 4. They used sticks and stones as tools. - 5. As time goes by, they made stone tools.


3. THE PALEOLITHIC AGE BELIEFS AND ART 1. Early humans buried dead people with funeral objects. This shows that they had religious beliefs. 2.They practised rituals to protect themselves against natural dangers (lightning). 3. They painted animals on caves using natural materials (coal, blood, plants, iron oxide‌). Its possible that they blieved that painting was magical and led to successful hunting. 4. They made statues of women, called venus. They were so exaggerated that it’s believed they were probably fertility symbols. They made tools called bifaces. They hit one stone against another to make them sharp. They use them as ools to cut meat o wood.
