The waiting area is being designed to reinforce the school’s emphasis on sustainability and creativity. It has the beautiful natural lighting source from the void above. To take the advantages of it, the seatings are placed under a wave-like construct which is made of sustainable material straw panels. Chairs and tables are matched with the design’s concept with curvy lines and shape. There are only 15 seatings in this area as people are supposed to stay here just for a short period. Yellow and yellow green are chosen to be the main color scheme as they stand for creativity, wisdom, youthfulness and calmness which give people a refreshing and peaceful feeling. There is a pendant light above every table which would be used in case of having weak natural lighting and to give more cozy feeling to users.

3 D P er s p ec t i v e Key plan

The reception counter is not just a workstation of the receptionists but it is also the corner that visitors would always look for when they first enter to the school. Therefore the reception counter is designed on the left side of the main entrance to give an easy access to visitors and guests. The aim of of the design is to have a private area for the receptions and yet still creative and related to the design’s concept so a wood-bent panel is used to enclose the counter. Homogeneous tiles with concrete color and texture is chosen for the flooring as homogeneous tiles has high density and long lasting lifespan so it is suitable for the lobby where it has high trafic flow. To reduce noise, the ceiling is designed with sound absorption acoustic panel in curved shape and hang to ceiling by metal wires. General fluorescent lights and down lights are used for the space to have functional and yet economic design.

The exhibition area is where to showcase the best work and achievement from the students as well as the school and to advertise the academy programmes that the school provides. It is opposite the reception counter so the receptionists can look after the area easily. A wave-like contruct like the designer did for the waiting area is designed for the exhibition area to have a unity design and related to each other. The space has 35 square meters in total so display stands ans exhibits are arranged in vertical shape to larger the area and reduce the waste of space.

The wall is painted yellow to match with the design’s concept and to stand as a feature wall inside the classroom. To give more contrast, a walnut wood flooring is used to calm down the senses. The classroom door has laminated finishing with piano keys patterns on it so it is like a ‘signboard’ of the room to tell people outside that the room is for piano composition learning. At the back wall, a long storage is to ensure that lecturers and students have enough shelves to store their academic’s work. A printer is placed inside the storage for students to print their music sheets immediately after their completion. The classroom is equiped with latest high-tech facilities to give students the best environment to study.
