National Parks Foundation

The National Parks Foundation (NPF) was specifically created in 1967 to support and protect America’s National Parks. The non-profit organization is funded primarily through private support and strives to enrich and preserve the almost 400 National Parks wherever possible.

Preserving National Parks

The Foundation maintains a strong focus on conservation and preservation of all American National Parks in any way possible. However, this can often be a challenging task, especially with natural disasters and man-made catastrophes decimating various regions from time to time. The changing climate can also make preserving some locations a difficult task, as does our swiftly changing culture.

The real key to preserving America’s heritage and history via our National Parks is to promote sustainable practices and to motivate more people to become involved in protecting these nationally protected locations.

Funding for preservation projects comes predominantly from socially and environmentally responsible private corporations and citizens. Some funding is also derived from various grants and other programs. This allows the Foundation to continue restoration work on a larger scale to achieve more significant results.

Encouraging Park Enthusiasts

The National Parks Foundation strives to encourage Americans to visit and appreciate the beauty and splendor so many diverse parks have to offer. Families with children visiting any of the Parks soon learn that their children develop an appreciation for them.

This helps to inspire future generations to become enthusiastic about preserving more of America’s heritage and history. It also means that future generations won’t be deprived of the opportunity to experience and learn about America’s natural forests and parklands.

The Foundation offers multiple programs to help encourage and motivate people to get out and explore what the National Parks have to offer. This includes promoting participation along the many active trails and motivating more people to become involved with their preservation goals.

Supporting National Parks

The National Parks Foundation has made it very easy for anyone to offer various levels of support. Donations are always welcomed, as they help to fund more restoration and preservation work.

Monetary donations made to the Foundation are tax deductible, and there is a variety of options available for making payments. This includes gift donations and even estate planning for those charitable citizens wishing to bequeath amounts to the Foundation.

Of course, not everyone is able to make monetary donations. This is where the Foundation strives to encourage schools to make use of National Parks as important educational centers for children. This allows the Foundation to make use of education grants to improve educational facilities and fund further programs in various locations. Additionally, schools have already encouraged more than 30,000 students to visit various National Parks in the past year via the Ticket to Ride program.

Even a simple family visit to any of America’s National Parks is a positive way to show your support for the work the Foundation does to preserve our heritage. If you’re keen to see our history preserved for future generations to benefit from, show your support for the NPF today.
