“Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” – United Nation. By definition, sustainability is fundamentally the controlled usage of resources to sustain for the future. In that perception, are we doing enough? How far are we ready to go? Which boundaries can we push, and which cannot? How many of that can be resolved by design or technology?

CONTEXT In an imaginary future when countries fail to accomplish the Paris Agreement to restrain dangerous global warming. In the 2100s, climate change then make societies suffer from the shortage of territory and resources. Conventional cities struggle to provide housing and service for constantly rising population. This happens naturally in a society-scale. When it becomes so costly to retain a habitable space in 3-dimensions, human try to make the most of their resources in the fourth – time. The 8/8/8 revolution is first applied in megacities in China territory: Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Many other cities and countries soon follow.

What if in the next revolution, people take turn to work, recreate and rest for 8 hour each? By that, a same area can serve up to 3 times of users in 24 hours.
