Introduction Studied at the University of Cape Town and currently deferred my Masters degree in Architecture. Graduated at the University of Cape Town with a Bachelors in Architectural Studies and a Bachelors in Architectural Studies (Honours).

My work for the past 6 years has been an incorporation of interests in flexible architecture, hybrid systems, mobile architecture, urban housing and stadium design as well as urban design projects . I have worked on a combination of projects ranging from design for a stadium in Cape Town to working on competitions.
Objective Completed both Bachelors of Architectural Studies and Bachelors of Architecture (Honours) and seeking to find employment.

Worked for 3 weeks as a student intern as part of the requirements for my second year course work at the university. Hub Architects is a specialist architectural business, dedicated to the design of lifestyle estates and urban housing communities. I assisted in general arrangements of drawings for one residential estate.

Title: Salt River Market Year: 2010 (University of Cape Town) MArch (6th Year) Concept: Thesis project is based on an existing market in an industrial area of Salt River, Cape Town. The concept was to rehabilitate the market by incorporating an additional program that can be used in conjunction with the current activities that are supported by the market. With heritage values taken into consideration, the concept plays on the idea of old and new by using the existing fabric, and designing a new space that connects the market to the existing urban fabric.

Title: Second Harvest:Bus StopPLUG N PLAY Furniture Year: 2007 (University of Cape Town) BAS 3 (3rd Year) Concept: Producing a kit of parts that is packaged and assembled on site to create an architectural shelter that is expressive and represent playful elements along the entire city streetscape.

Title: Gyproc Design Hub; Living spaces Year: 2008 Private competition 4th Year Internship Concept: The competition requirements was to design a flexible mobile space that could be used for different environments and spaces. My concept was to create inhabitation that can be adapted to a person who lives, works and plays on the move. The units are all standard and modular and can be adjusted to suit ones personal preference.

TECHNICAL Title: The Haven Homeless Shelter Year: 2009 (University of Cape Town) BAS(Hons) (5th Year) Concept: The Haven homeless shelter is a project developed in conjunction with The Haven organisation in Cape Town. This project required to design a homeless shelter space in the middle of the city. The design development illustrate spaces that are defined by a series of conglomerate boxes that are defined by the activity that occurs within that space. These spaces fit into a hierarchy of spaces that could be adapted and reused in the future for a different use.

DIGITAL Title: Photography Studio Year: 2007 (University of Cape Town) BAS 3 (3rd Year) Concept: The project was a 3D design project that required us to design an exhibition stall for the Cape Town convention centre. The design idea was to create an exhibition space for a photographer. The idea was to explore the positive and negative spaces of photography using a roll of film as precedent and creating a design out of the simplicity of the function of a roll of film.

DIGITAL Title: Design Hub in the City- LIVE, WORK PLAY Year: 2008 (University of Cape Town) BAS 3 (3rd Year) Concept: Create a functionsl building where space is negotiated by the occupant on order to introduce difference and variation to the level of the individual.

INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE Title: Cape Town Fusion Restaurant Year: 2009 (Private Work) Concept: The client required the design of the interior of the restaurant to represent 1960 Sophia town inspired by local South African musicians. The idea was to create the rawness in the interior of the space by incorporating concrete boxes with perforated steel screens and brightly light boxes.
INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE Title: Smart cafe restaurant Year: 2006 (University of Cape Town) Concept: The interior design is driven by the concept of movable partitions that move in and out of the building. The space is divided into floors where the main eatery space is downstairs and a private lounge with the bar is upstairs.
URBAN DESIGN |
URBAN DESIGN Title: Ysterplaat Area 55 Year: 2009 (Univrsity of Cape Town) BAS(Hons) (5th Year) Concept: The urban project is based on a military site in Ysterplaat, Cape Town. The design idea was to create an urban settlement with public amenities and resources. The urban concept was to create an urban green belt intersected by a public transport interchange that will be designed within the area and a combination of mixed use housing.
