Create a communal meeting space for the gathering of village residents that would highlight the function of the space as a community focal point. The new structure should not overpower The existing site’s beauty, simplicity or character. The existing site buildings should maintain their historic and physical eminence on the site. The new structure’s massing is to be a horizontal expression allowing the vertical prominence of the lighthouse tower to be maintained. The design created Has a truncated gable roof that is an abstraction of the existing buildings vernacular with a skewed plan that takes its cues from the site. Visual site lines from adjacent properties are maintained by the orientation and minimal profile of the structure.
