Carol’s Daughter Wash Day Delight $10.99
I have been a fan of Lisa Price and her Carol’s Daughter line since its inception. Long before wannabe brands, like Camille Rose, she helped us embrace our natural curls. Her newest product provides easy scalp access with its tipped nozzle as it instantly flows through hair and transforms into a gentle foam lather without harsh friction that wrecks hair. With no sulfates, parabens, silicones or artificial colors, it gently detangles, lifts away product build-up and cleanses.

On Having Healthy Relationships
With the current world political situation causing anxiety coupled with fast dating apps, like Tinder, romance has taken a serious hit. Gone are the days of courting. Nowadays, most people are hooking up based solely on looks and swiping to express interest in each other. Here are my tips most of which I learned the hard way - for forming healthier relationships:

Identify Your Patterns Do all of your relationships end the same way? Are
a lot of your friendships shallow? Many of you have unhealthy romantic and relationship patterns that are making you miserable and you would like to change. Identify yours.

Access ALL of Your Connections Even having just one unhealthy love
relationship or friendship can have a seriously detrimental effect on your mental health. Because you will ruminate on it over all others. If you have more than one, your life will become a misery. Make sure that ALL of your relationships are actually grounded in Love and not mutual co-dependency.
Step Back You can only attract healthy, fun relationships if you are in a
healthy, fun Spirit space. The people you form relationships with during times of strife will often not be the best choices as you are not in your right mind. And these people will make you miserable for years to come. So if you are going through any kind of strife, step back a bit and allow yourself to heal before heading into a new relationship of any sort.
On Having Healthy Relationships
Forgive But Do Not Forget I have a bad habit of allowing repeated bad
behavior and repeatedly ghosting people. Then I take them back again, only to have the bad behavior continue. One of my resolutions for this year is to permanently eliminate toxic people rather than expecting them to change. As Maya Angelou famously said “when people show you who they are, believe them the first time!” Should you forgive them? Absolutely. But should you forget? No. Don’t let there be multiple hurtful incidences when you have already been shown someone’s true character!
Enjoy Your Own Company
Many people have toxic relationships because they do not want to be alone. But you are better off alone than in relationships that suck positive energy from you. The quickest way to improve the quality of people around you is to uplift your own spirits. This will ensure that you are emitting energy that will only attract the people, who you actually want in your Life. And most importantly
Form A Strong Bond With God Too many people are looking for God in
other people only to be repeatedly disappointed. I know. I did it. For years. But no one will ever be able to fulfill your Soul. The only way to do so is to connect to the Godly force that created you and is within you. Only when you do this will your Earthly relationships be healthier.

“A life without love is of no account. Don’t ask yourself what kind of love you should seek, spiritual or material, divine or mundane, Eastern or Western. Divisions only lead to more divisions. Year of The Rat 4717 Predictions from Judith Wendell of “Sacred Currents” I am mad for Judith Wendell the founder of SACRED CURRENTS, a company dedicated to creating vital and thriving environments. I asked her could I run her amazing article forecasting what the Year of The Rat 4717 has to offer each of the 12 Animals of the Chinese Zodiac! For those of you less familiar with the Chinese Zodiac, it is made up of 12 animal signs and 5 elements, comprising a 60-year cycle. The first day of Chinese New Year begins on the new moon that appears between January 21st and February. 20th. In 2020, the first day of the Lunar New Year will be on Saturday, January 25th, initiating the Year of the Metal RAT which ends February 11th, 2021. Ancient lore says, the Jade Emperor invited all of the animals in the world to join him for the New Year celebration, but only 12 animals bothered to turn up. As a great reward, he named a year after each one of them and they run in the order that the animals arrived to celebrate. The Rat tricked the Ox into giving him a ride. Then, just as they arrived at the finish line, the Rat jumped down and landed ahead of the Ox, becoming first. This parable should start to offer you some insight of the charm and entrepreneurial spirit of the Rat.

Crystal Chu Rinpoche says in her yearly almanac, “According to Black Sect Esoteric Buddhism’s perspective on the study of folk culture, bees collect nectar from myriads of flowers and humans eat the honey; oxen till the field and rats chew on the grain. The Rat has the good luck of achieving results without having to work for them, thus we must take advantage of the Rat’s good fortune to prevent any adverse circumstances that may arise this year.” As you read below and in your individual forecast, our own efforts and actions will ultimately create the foundation for our protection and success.
General Indicators for this Year: • This year’s heavenly stem is Metal and the earthly branch is Water in the 60-year cycle. As Metal creates Water, on the surface 2020 should be a smooth year. (Read about the qualities of the 5 Elements“ Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, and Meta’” here: SacredCurrents.com/about-feng-shui/about-elements). • In Chinese culture, Rats were seen as a sign of wealth and surplus. Because of their reproduction rate, married couples prayed to them for children. • Rats have a split personality because the hours of the Rat encompass both Yin and Yang (11PM-1AM). They also have four front fingers (Yin) and their back paws have five toes (Yang) making them versatile and adaptive. As the first of the zodiac animals, the Rat ushers in a cycle of renewal. As Water is the natural element of the Rat, it can purport pessimism and fear. . Hence, there may be uncertainty for
tgatp|feature
global investors in 2020 in what may become a bearish market. •As the elements of Fire and Earth are not represented by this year’s zodiac they will be the ones to be in demand and succeed. This is because Fire conquers Metal, and Earth overcomes Water. Thus industries represented by Fire and Earth, including energy, entertainment, real estate, land development, mining, insurance and technology, will have the greatest chance to profit. •The industries represented Water and Wood elements have less fortunate luck. These include the Water industries of shipping, transportation, and communication and the Wood industries of fashion, media, books, and the environment. •Conditions between countries may not improve much this year. In fact, some of the world’s most offensive leaders, as well as areas of conflict and natural disasters, may, unfortunately, worsen during 2020.
Each zodiac animal has its own qualities that are consistent year to year. However, every sign will be influenced by the Rat’s energy this year. Below are some insights for each zodiac animal in 2020. Please note that fortunes can be reduced or enhanced with Feng Shui, rituals, meditations and transcendental adjustments and that all people have their own karma to consider. Remember too that even the luckiest signs (the Ox, Monkey, and Dragon this year), have their cautions and the unluckiest (the Horse, Ram, and Rabbit) have their bright spots.

INSIGHTS FOR THE 12 CHINESE ZODIAC ANIMALS
RAT – 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020 Rats are charming creatures with a large dose of intelligence. They are independent and have a sharp eye for detail, making them well suited to the fields of art and writing, as well as engineering and architecture. They are warm-hearted and opportunistic and at times stubborn perfectionists. Rats have a great ability to be adaptive problem solvers. Although one’s own zodiac year is traditionally the most unfortunate (due to the fact that you’re ‘sitting atop of the year god’), 2020 will go reasonably well for the Metal Rat. Keep a low profile knowing that success will come to your career. Yet, your health and relationships will prove to have challenges. Take a preemptive approach with your health and establish an open environment for all of your relationships. The year will have its issues, but doing the Golden Cicada Ritual on 3 consecutive nights starting on New Year’s Eve – the 24th of January, will turn misfortune into auspiciousness. Carrying either your best friend the Ox or your 3 harmony companions the Monkey & Dragon talismans, will help support your good fortunes this year. All three are your most compatible signs.

AT THE MOVIES

Although this is usually a slow time of year for films, there are some great films opening this February. I am particularly looking forward to all the horror film releases. It is also a great time to catch up on the films you have missed, particularly the ones that have either already won or are up for awards.
TGATP February Film Guide Birds Of Prey Joker’s gal and badass villain Harley Quinn gets her own film. It’s a far more comedic take than the recent “Joker” film with kickass action and a hilarious script. I LOVED it!
The Lodge
This film was what I call a “FUS” - a f**ked up situation film! More disturbing than scary, it’s a cross between “The Visit” and 70’s cult classic, “Let’s Scare Jessica To Death.”
Sonic The Hedgehog
Based on the Sega video game and featuring James Marsden and Jim Carey with Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog, this is fun for the whole family.
Fantasy Island The concept for this remake is ingenious. A horror version of the classic TV show, this is a February must-see.
Downhill A remake of the 2015 Academy Awards nominated Swedish film “Force Majeure” from “The Descendants” director, Alexander Payne with Will Ferrell with Julia Dreyfuss in the leads, Downhill offers both great comedic and poignant dramatic moments.
Ordinary Love A instant classic love story about a couple going through the nightmare of cancer. Liam Neeson and have wonderfully believable chemistry. Bring tissue.
The Photograph Issa Rae and Lakeith Stanfield sizzle in this Valentine’s Day romance. I am so happy to see black people in love portrayed properly on screen.
Buffaloed Zoey Deutch shines in this comedy about a hometown hustler, who becomes a debt collector to take on the local loan shark.
The Call Of The Wild
I prefer animals to most people. So this is the film I am most looking forward to seeing this month. Harrison Ford and Dan Stevens star in this adaption of Jack London’s classic dog tale.
Emma
No matter how many times this story gets cinematically retold, I love every single version. Anya Taylor-Joy is perfectly cast in this latest take on the Jane Austen novel.
Brahms: The Boy ll
The first film was cheesy, great horror fun. The filmmakers have elevated the series by casting Katie Holmes in the sequel.
Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and The Band Produced by the powerhouse filmmaking trio of Martin Scorsese, Brian Frazer and Ron Howard, this is the the story of The Band, one of the most influential rock groups of all time.
The Night Clerk
I have loved Tye Sheridan since I first saw him in “Mud.” This thriller features Sheridan as a hotel clerk who is suspected of murder but must stop the actual murderer before he strikes again.
The Invisible Man
The ultimate scary concept - a woman has to fight against an invisible domestic abuser.
Guns Akimbo
Daniel Ratcliffe - a.k.a “Harry Potter”- in an action-packed thrill ride about a video developer, who inadvertently becomes the next participant in a real-life death match that streams online.
