The day begins early with Kriyas, which are yogic cleansing techniques, at 6:30am. The cleanses include eye cleansing with Tripala, nose cleaning with a neti pot, warm coconut in your ears and nose and breathing exercises.There is also a vomiting step in the cleansing. However, most guests passed on that. You are gifted with your neti pot and your eye cups, so I have incorporated this practice into my daily routine at home. Following the yogic cleansing, all guests can attend a morning yoga session. I was a yoga rookie, but I am now hooked.
My teacher Anastasia was so caring and attentive that I wish I could have her come to my house every morning. She taught me very basic stretches that I do in the morning and throughout my day now. My specially prescribed treatments included a mud pack, which was applied to my eyes and abdomen for detoxification, two aqua yoga classes, a ayurvedic foot massage for the ankle, a full body ayurvedic massage with oil drip, and two acupuncture sessions. The center is equipped with a

juice bar so that guests can have juices between meals and therapy sessions. There is food served after dinner and no snacking as the center advocates intermittent fasting. I have also been trying to continue this practice at home. But it gets tough when I work 18-hour days! I do, however, feel much better when I don't eat after 8pm. There are two gorgeous jacuzzis, a pool and a sauna for your convenience though you are pretty busy. It was below zero when I visited. But in nice weather, you can also take nature walks on the grounds. From prescribed treatments to diet, your stay at YO1 is tailored to maximize
your health and wellness long after your visit. My stay produced miraculous results. Upon arrival I had severe ankle pain due to having sprained it and not doing the requisite physical therapy. I was also sluggish and carrying extra weight due to a sugar addiction. After just one day, with the wonderful Yo1 therapists, my ankle remained pain free for two weeks and I am still – a month later – not eating or even craving added sugar! I have maintained a 10-lb weight loss and am attempting to drop even more with the tips that I learned at the center…after just ONE DAY! I plan to go back soon and I dream of one day checking in for a full month and fully healing my mind, body and Soul.

My dark chocolate truffles make a lovely Valentine’s Day gift. I stopped eating diary a couple years ago, so I have modified my recipe to a vegan version.

INGRIEDIENTS • 1 8 ounces of vegan unsweetened dark chocolate (70% or more cacao) • 2 3 TBSP of full-fat coconut milk • 3 1/4 cup organic refined coconut oil • 4 1 tsp vanilla extract • 5 Hot chili powder of choice • 6 Assorted toppings and/or middles of your choice (nuts, sprinkles, or unsweetened shredded coconut are good options) • 7 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder for coating

Find some lovely boxes and make these for your friends and family this Valentine’s Day. • 1. Melt the chocolate and the oil and the coconut milk over a low heat Stir in the vanilla and chili peppers to taste. Refridgerate in a bowl until the mix is set but still soft enough to roll into balls about an hour and a half. • 2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper • 3. Scoop the chocolate with a tablespoon or 1-inch ice cream scoop and roll into balls. Coat with the cocoa powder and or your toppings and place your truffles on the parchment paper lined baking sheet. Refrigerate for 10 to 15 minutes • 4. Transfer to your boxes or an airtight container iand store n the fridge. • 5. Let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving.

Mushroom Curry Bowl I am trying to release some weight so have been making more food at home. My go-to is bowls of veggies made in different ways served with small portions of rice or ramen. Here is my current favorite. I left out measurements because you can simply make as much or as little as you need. Do make sure to only make ONE serving of rice or ramen to keep the carb count down.

INGRIEDIENTS • 1. Shitake Mushrooms • 2. Red Pepper • 3. Red Onion • 4. Green Curry • 5 Coconut Milk • 6 Rice or Ramen • 7 Black Sesame Seed • 5 Chopped Cashews

Make the curry first. Then heat your rice or make your ramen. • 1. Saute your chopped mushrooms, red peppers, onions in a small amount of grapeseed oil till softened but not mushy • 2. Add your coconut milk and stir in green or red curry paste to taste • 3. Simmer on low heat for 2 minutes then set aside • 4. Either microwave your coconut rice to boil your ramen • 5. Place rice or ramen in a bowl, top with curried veggies. Add sesame seeds and blend.

Happy Death Day 2
I loved the first film and this one is just as much fun. Except I couldn’t get over the main character seeming to pick her new boyfriend over her Mom. No one that loves their Mom would make that bad choice. Having lost my Mom, if I could have her back, there is no way a guy would come before her!

I missed the first Lego Movie. But I hear it was great so I plan to stream it then see this second one.
Alita Battle Angel I’m surprised this wasn’t saved for the summer. It’s a perfect movie for families with kids 12 and over. Directed by Robbie Rodriguez from a script by James Cameron, I really enjoyed this. See this in the biggest 3D IMAX you can!
It’s So Romantic
This is enjoyable but the messaging was slightly off. I am tired of films that attempt to make mean, negative people attractive. While funny in bits, Wilson was mostly annoying and unlikeable.
