SUMMER ON THE “ISLAND”. Life on the Island has a special “feeling” in the summer. Sure, there are plenty of “visitors” who are vacationing however there is something “extra” in the summer for me. I think it’s the time of the year I’m most drawn to my own youth. I find myself being carefree & spontaneous in the summer. I’ve associated this “summer feeling” in the “heat of the summer” all my life. Even my kiddos seem to know when I’m “up to mischief”... it happens when I put on my summertime hat/Tilley (AKA, Dad’s adventure hat!). We usually pack-up the kiddos and head to the beach, find a new park, hike on a new trail, playing “tourist” for the day, or make smores over a campfire. Ah, that summertime “feeling”.
