Cheryl loves [now full-time, Real Estate. on PEI!] CHERYL BURNS was born into a large Irish
Catholic family in Charlottetown. She was raised in Toronto but never missed coming back to the Island every summer vacation to visit her many relatives. In 2010, Cheryl and her partner of 36 years, Doug Johnston moved to PEI and are both grateful to call the Island “home”.

Cheryl began her career in real estate as a receptionist for a brokerage in Ontario. She was fascinated with the industry and quickly chose to become licensed. Later, she expanded her work experience by working in public relations with the Canadian Home Shopping Network and as a Trade Advisor for the State of Illinois and the Council of Great Lake Governors. In 1996, she returned to real estate, become re-licensed and working with a Condominium Developer in Downtown Toronto. Cheryl managed the Sales Center for 3 large developments. During this time, she learned so much about construction, marketing and sales. It was an exciting time in Toronto; growth was rapid and Condominium sales were red hot! The work was so rewarding that Cheryl still loves driving by the projects when she visits Toronto, reliving the excitement and the role she played in the developments. Now, as a full time REALTOR® with Provincial Realty, every day is different for Cheryl. In fact, that is one aspect which Cheryl loves about real estate. The spring/summer seasons are typically full out, busy with appointments, showing and listing properties. There are home inspections to be booked, appraisals to complete, and pending deals to bring to a close. Ensuring all time lines and paper work is up to date is often a full time job. During the slower months, Cheryl works out of her home office, researching, reaching out to past clients and working on marketing plans. Follow up calls and visits with clients is a big part of her overall exceptional customer service. Cheryl also serves on the Board of Directors of the PEI Real Estate Association and as Chair Person of the

Professional Standards Committee. Both commitments keep her busy year-round. So far 2019 has been an interesting year for the real estate industry.
