The design goal for Marbella Resort is to channel Key West ’s unique culture and scenic beaut y. The freeform organization of the pool mirrors the relaxed island culture while the layout and amenities appeal to the variet y of people attracted to Key West. The focal point is the shipwreck spanning the pool. The slide highlights both the excitement of adventure as well as Key West ’s beginnings: a small island off a coastal reef where trade ships went astray, bringing fortuitous goods, culture and more people to enjoy the part y.
