SAFE, CLEAN, & READY FOR

SAFETY MEASURES

AUDITIONS

We are pleased to re-open our programs in a limited capacity and will be establishing the following protective measures. Thank you in advance for helping guard the safety of our wonderful students, staff, and all of our families and friends during COVID-19. Together we can keep our community safe.

Students will wait outside until they are called into the building. Students will be given specific time slots, and students who arrive late will miss their audition. Students must wear masks until they are on stage.

ENTERING & EXITING THE BUILDING

Students must stay in designated areas and maintain social distancing at all times. Students in full-day programs must bring a packed lunch. Parents/guardians may drop off a lunch, but students may not leave the building or order delivery.

Parents, guardians, and siblings may not enter the building at any time until the final performance or showcase. Details of each class showcase will be sent out at a later time. Sign-in and sign-out will happen outside with no physical contact. Staff members and parents/guardians are expected to wear masks, and the staff member managing the door will wipe down the door handle between each student. Students may enter the building no earlier than 10 minutes before their scheduled class, rehearsal, or show call. Students who do not have “may leave unaccompanied” forms must be picked up no later than 10 minutes after their class or rehearsal. For every minute after ten minutes, a babysitting fee of $1 a minute will be charged.

SAFETY IN THE BUILDING

Theatres, wings, rehearsal spaces, and dressing room areas will be marked out to ensure maximum possible social distancing, and students must stay within marked areas. The theatre has taken significant steps to add air filtration and surface protectants to prevent the spread of germs. You can read more about the use of our minimum MERV13 filters, BioProtect™ Industrial Treatment, and RGF – REME-HALO units in our Facility Health Plan document.

MASKS

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITY

Students and staff are required to wear masks in the facility at all times. The Naples Players and parents recognize that students and staff can effectively sing, dance, and act while wearing masks and that masks may be required while performing or rehearsing.

Hand sanitizer and soap will be provided at The Naples Players at entrances, bathrooms, rehearsal spaces, etc. Students are expected to wash their hands upon their arrival at the theatre, after breaks, and before and after rehearsals and performances.

SINGING

Students are expected to help maintain cleanliness of spaces and may be asked to wipe down their dressing room area.

Students in singing rehearsals will stand at physical/ social distance from each other and from the music director/accompanist.

PERSONAL POSSESSIONS Students must provide their own pens, pencils, notebooks, water bottles, food, personal hygiene materials, and makeup and hair supplies as needed. If a student is lacking a necessary personal supply, they must ask Naples Players staff, not borrow from another student.

ILLNESS Students who are feeling ill must stay home. No Exceptions, including on performance days. If a student is feeling ill – in any capacity – during a rehearsal or before a performance, they will be isolated, temperature checked, and immediately sent home. Parents/ guardians should have a plan in place to quickly pick up their student from the theatre at any time.

NOTIFICATION & COMMUNICATION If a student or staff member who has been in contact with other students is diagnosed with COVID-19, we will immediately notify all families with whom they have been in contact (keeping their name anonymous.) We request that if your child or a family member is diagnosed, that you contact us so that we may inform the people who were in contact with that person. We will also keep it anonymous.

UNDERSTUDIES Performance program directors will choose students to understudy principal roles. Understudies will go on only in the case that the principal actors become ill.

SANITATION Dressing rooms, door handles, any shared props, pianos, lighting and sound boards, tables, chairs, seats and other areas touched by multiple people will be regularly disinfected between classes. Students will not have the opportunity to interact with other classes, and several hours will pass between one classes’ use of a space, and another classes’ use of the space. During this time, the room will be treated with Foster™ 40-80 First Defense® Disinfectant. (read more in our Facility Health Plan document.)

PERFORMANCES & SHOWCASES Audiences will be seated general admission and in an arrangement that allows them to maintain a social distance from the performers and from each party during performances. All theatres will be operating at reduced audience capacity to allow for the greatest possible safety, and party sizes may be limited to only 1 or 2 individuals. Audience members are asked to remain in their seats except to use the restroom. Audiences are requested to meet their family members and friends outdoors after the performances to avoid crowding in the lobby. More information about performances and showcases will be provided as they get closer. Again, we thank you, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
