I'm a self taught designer, illustrator and writer. It feels wrong to say "I" because although it was through my own motivation that I picked up the pen tool,and evolved beyond the type Impact, the desire that produces my activity does not start with me and end with a finished product. There are so many others demanding to be articulated too. Capitalism territorializes the human urge for creativity, our magical tendency to edit the universe. I would like to see what would happen if we were no longer limited by the need to transform all human relations into capital, but I am no pious activist and I know that I must get paid in order to survive. Perhaps those of us whose creativity is structured as work may find one another, illuminate this question and smash the false harmony of the culture-producing industry?
