to the 3rd Annual Spokane Speed and Custom Show! We hope you enjoy the efforts of show creator Brian Anderson as he brings the finest show cars on the west coast to Spokane!
Brian grew up around cars and car shows under the watchful eyes of his parents, Glenn and Jeannie. The family was active in the car show scene and Brian judged his first show in 1986. Still a judge for some of most prestigious awards in the country like the Don Ridler Memorial Award at Detroit Autorama and the America’s Most Beautiful Roadster award at the Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona, California, Brian has worked tirelessly to create a new “Spring Tradition” indoor car show for automotive enthusiasts in Spokane. Brian would like to send a special thank you to Theresa, Taylor, Hannah, Logan, Glenn, and Jeannie. Without their love and understanding, this event would never have gotten off the ground. The show is expanding in 2020 into 3 MORE BUILDINGS at the Spokane Interstate Fairgrounds! That means MORE CARS! MORE VENDORS! MORE TO SEE! Be sure to mark your calendars for April 17-19, 2020! of Spokane
Scale Auto Builders of Spokane was formed in 1980 by a small group of like minded model builders. Over the years club members have promoted the hobby of model building through car shows and events with the Boy Scouts and local hospitals. For many years, members hosted a model show and contest at the Auto Boat Speed Show and now the Spokane Speed and Custom Show. Scale Auto Builders of Spokane have hosted the Goodguys Northwest Nationals Model Car Show and “Make and Take” giveaway for the past 17 years. Their model shows are similar to the car shows you attend. They have People’s Choice balloting and the model cars are judged much like the show cars. Models are judged on paint, body work, assembly and overall appearance. Their judges look at the creativity and detailing used by the builder to complete the kit. This includes but not limited to the paint, interior, engine and engine bay, and suspension.

The judges look for detailing like engine hoses and wiring, carpeting, opening doors and trunk or a working suspension added by the builder. As in real cars, the model builder’s imagination can be limitless.

Scale Auto Builders of Spokane welcomes builders of all ages and skill who build models of all types from automotive to military to miniatures. The club has many talented members who enjoy sharing their modeling techniques. They meet once a month to display their models, discuss modeling news, ideas and techniques, along with club business. Scale Auto Builders of Spokane members enjoy an annual club picnic and swap meet, and Christmas party. Members also have the opportunity to be involved in the Spokane Speed and Custom Show and the Goodguys Northwest Nationals model shows. Local pinstripers are again holding a brush bash and silent auction at the Spokane Speed and Custom Show. Hand pinstriped panels are available to bid on, with the proceeds supporting Anna’s Homes (www.AnnaSchindlerFoundation.org/Annas-Homes/) a local charity providing respite housing for childhood cancer families at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital.
