Padma Bhushan Prof. N.S. Ramaswamy

N. Srinivasa Iyer Ramaswamy (1926–2012), popularly known as Cartman Ramaswamy, was an Indian engineer, educationist, management academic and writer, and the founder director of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. He was the founder of Centre for Action, Research and Technology for Man, Animal and Nature (CARTMAN), an organization working for region-relevant and appropriate technology transfer to rural area and Indian Heritage Academy, an organization involved in propagating Indian cultural traditions. Whatever be the criticism by ill-informed elites, Astrology is gaining acceptance worldwide. Dr. B. V. Raman had, on many occasions, explained the science and rationale of Astrology, based on not only knowledge of the science but also on insights and intuition. Astrology has drawn concepts both from

Paravidya (higher - inner knowledge) and Aparavidya

(lower - outer knowledge). In fact, Astrology integrates the silent and invisible world of experience and the outer manifested world of experiments. Both science and spirituality have a place in our pursuit to know the truth and the mystery of creation and the universe. God sleeps in inert matter, wakes up in plant life, walks in the animals and thinks in man. Astrology makes us think and wonder how the Laws of Order and Karma function.

Our sages developed inner knowledge by meditation, silence, austerity, selfless outlook, ethical and moral conduct and surrendering to the divine. They estimated speed of light, gravitation, planetary movements, age of the earth, evolution and hundreds of such discoveries all these long before the birth of Christ. But these are now known in the name of Western Astronomers and Scientists. There is Copernicus Marg, but not Aryabhata. Our sages did not use equipment or sense-based observation and analysis. Mere knowledge of planetary positions and movements is not adequate for prediction. It has to be supplemented with intuition. Therefore, this Astrological eMagazine will not only focus on the analytical and experimental part but also the intuitive and inspirational part of Astrology. This means that the magazine should cover a larger canvas of knowledge and techniques - scientific and spiritual.

This new eMagazine should also include all associated areas of India's ancient thought and wisdom, such as philosophy, culture, customs, traditions, festivals, symbolism, mysticism, etc, which are value-based and time-tested and relevant not only for the present but also for all times to come. Western historians and thinkers, like Arnold Toynbee, Will Durant, Thoreau, Emerson, Romaine Rolland and others as well as the modern scholar, Dr. David Frawley (who himself has written on Astrology), have acknowledged and acclaimed the profound thought and wisdom of our ancient sages. According to them, India is the cradle of civilization, mother of the human race, grandmother of all major European languages through Sanskrit, great grandmother of science, philosophy and ethics etc. This Astrological eMagazine should educate Indians on India's glorious scientific and cultural heritage. After all, Astrology is part of Vedas, which is the foundation of India's spiritual genius. As this is the commercial era of Kaliyuga, Astrology also has been trivialized for popular consumption. This eMagazine should bring the essence of the science to the public, and protect it from commoditization and commercialization.

It so happens that this is India's Century, as predicted by Swami Vivekananda in 1895, when he declared that the whole world would come to India to seek solutions to the complex problems afflicting mankind, animals and nature. For two thousand years, marauders and

TOOLS & TECHNIQUES COMBINATIONS FOR THE PUBLIC SECTOR JOB

Kartheek Darbha

Kartheek Darbha is a Vedic Astrology practitioner with nearly 9 plus years of experience in various fields of Vedic Astrology. He comes with practical and hands-on experience in analyzing horoscopes using Math (Impact analysis of each planet based on its degree of location in each and its effect in other Bhava) as said in Vedic Astrology by renowned Parasara Maharshi. His expertise is in dealing with marriage predictions, health situations in female horoscopes related to childbirth, vamsa vrudhi, travel, occupation and business predictions, and star Lord dasha system analysis.

Occupation or job opportunities in every horoscope could be derived from tenth house in birth/natal chart. On top of it, this article exhibits the syntax and semantics in identifying the Government job possibilities and also promotions in a horoscope.

Abstract

Topics Covered:

• Role of Sun, Moon in a horoscope with respect to occupation, especially in Government job. • Various possible combinations for Government job possibilities in a horoscope. • Horoscope case studies • Role of Ascendant/ Lagna lord in the study.

Notes:

1) Raja Graha Chaturtha - Sun, Moon with both their Rasis Cancer and Leo are termed as Raja Graha

Chaturtha.

2) To calculate the effect of planet on each Bhava: Influence of a planet on Bhava, Bhava Lord and the second house of Bhava. The algebraic sum of geometrical effect on each Bhava.

Formula:

The effect of a planet on a particular Bhava = SUM (Effect of that planet on that Bhava + Effect of that planet on the Second House of Bhava + Effect of that planet on that Bhava Lord).

Example: To calculate the effect of Saturn on 8 Bhava for Aries Ascendant natal chart, placed in Taurus at 0 degrees and behind Mars, who is at 10 degrees in same Taurus.

Total Effect of Saturn on 8 Bhava = SUM (Effect of Saturn on Scorpio (30 degrees) + Effect of Saturn on Aries (0 degrees) + Effect of Saturn on Mars (30 - (10 - 0))); Total Effect of Saturn on 8 Bhava = SUM (30 + 0 + 20);

Total Effect of Saturn on 8 Bhava = 50 degrees;

If computable Bhava is planet’s own house, then the total summation must be doubled.

Sun and Moon are termed as Raja Graha. Those houses in natal chart which belong to Sun and Moon are Cancer and Leo.

Combination of this set (Sun, Moon, Cancer and Leo) is termed as Raja Graha Chaturtha. The tenth or eight Bhava in a good relation with any one of Raja Graha Chaturtha will lead to Government job possibility in a horoscope.

Role of Sun and Moon

Role of Eighth Bhava

Eighth Bhava always play a prominent role in horoscope analysis. Not only in occupation, any event occurrence and the most possible Boolean result could be predicted from 8 Bhava.

Ashtama Suddhi plays a very important role in a person’s life with every life deciding event to yield a predicted outcome.

1. Whether a student will do well or fail in examination? 2. Would a politician perform well in election? 3. Would a marriage Samskara for a duo be a right combination? 4. Once a house construction starts, would there be obstacles? 5. Would there be any obstacles like evil

Chandrashtama Dosha etc.,in organizing marriage of daughter or son?

In Vedic Astrology, when a Yoga is formed in an individual's horoscope, it is not necessary that it is always positive. Sakata Yoga is one such yoga, when it occurs gives a lot of stress and turbulence in an individual's life.

Sakata Yoga is a commonly known yoga for almost all good astrologers. According to many classics if Moon is situated in 6th, 8th or 12th house from Jupiter this yoga occurs.

However, many classics opine in a reverse way! If all planets are placed between 1st house to 7th house this yoga is formed, as per Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra. Varahamihira opines the same. Classics say that this yoga will make the person poor, stubborn and keep him away from relatives and friends. Misery is also hinted for individuals with this yoga.

Some astrologers say if Jupiter or Moon are in an angle/Kendra from the Lagna/1st house, the yoga will be nullified.

According to Dr. B.V. Raman, even his grandfather Prof. Rao objected this common yoga and Dr. Raman mentioned a statement from The Shukranadi that, Sakata yoga jatasya yoga bhangam pade pade Interested readers can refer his book Three Hundred Important Combinations for more information.

Dr. Raman clearly revealed whenever transit Moon enters the 6, 8, 12 houses from best benefic Jupiter,
