HOW TO BE A GOOD SPONSOR AIM FOR GUT HEALTH

THE IMPORTANCE OF AIM CELEBRATIONS

Reaching More Generations TM

W

hen AIM was founded in 1982, most Members were part of the Baby Boomer generation (born 19461964) and for those of you who don’t know, after the Baby Boomers came “Gen X” (born 1965-1980) and now the “Millennials” (born 1981-1996). If you are a business builder, you have the opportunity to position your business to tap into the millions of young people in this generation. By positioning yourself in front of this generation, you have the potential to explode your business. Most millennials are disillusioned with the lifestyle led by their parents, who at times have sacrificed relationships and sometimes their health in order to work long and hard hours towards their retirement. In fact, a survey conducted by Deloitte revealed that 66% of millennials plan on leaving the workforce by 2020 because they want to do it differently. They want to make an impact on the world and live a life of purpose. At the same time, this generation embraces the Direct Selling Industry with open arms. To sum it up, what Millennials want is family. They want to spend time with their kids; they want to look after their health with preventative solutions and are embracing health and wellness like never before! I can’t think of a better opportunity than AIM, to meet their wants and needs.

CELL FOOD

By Charlotte Meschede - Nutritionist

Proancynol 2000 is a formula containing a variety of antioxidants, each of which will be thoroughly explained below. However, first and foremost, let us understand what exactly is meant by the term “antioxidant” and how does it impact our immune system? Foods that contain antioxidant compounds have the ability to stabilize highly reactive, potentially harmful molecules called free radicals. These toxic little molecules are generated during normal cellular metabolism and also from metabolism or breakdown of medications, alcohol and other toxins. Exposure to UV light, cigarette smoke and other harmful environmental pollutants also increases the body’s free radical load. Free radicals have the ability to damage membranes, enzymes and DNA structures and therefore eating foods or taking supplements that have a high concentration of antioxidants is important to help neutralize these free radicals and therefore protect the structural integrity of cells and tissues. Consequently, free radical production has been implicated in being one of the major aggressors in the pathology of over 100 diseases ranging from arthritis, atherosclerosis and haemorrhagic shock to Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Both natural and synthetic antioxidants have been demonstrated to induce beneficial effects on human 4

health and disease prevention. However, there is a marked difference regarding the beneficial effects of naturally occurring versus synthetically produced antioxidants in the human body. There are hundreds, if not thousands of different antioxidant compounds, each bearing specific properties that are active against certain types of free radicals.

What about Proancynol 2000? Now we know what antioxidants do and how they fit into our Way to Health story, let us examine what Proancynol 2000 has to offer. This phenomenal product contains the following nutrients per serving:

CELL FOOD

• • • • • • • • •

Vitamin A 1,495 mcg Vitamin C 2 mg Selenium 200 mcg Green Tea Extract 100 mg Rosemary Extract 100 mg Grape Seed Extract 50 mg N-Acetyl-Cysteine 30 mg Alpha-lipoic Acid 26 mg Lycopene 2 mg

Even though anecdotal evidence is important, there are many clinical trials and reviews that have focused on how antioxidants can protect the various structures from damage and have confirmed that antioxidant supplementation can significantly improve specific immune responses. A review by Adrianne Bendich (Human Nutrition Research) from New Jersey (USA), found that supplementation with Vitamins C, E and A or beta-carotene increased the activation of cells involved in immunity. It was also found that supplementation with these specific vitamins supported a healthy immune response in individuals exposed to environmentally produced free radicals. Supplementation with vitamin A, which is considered to have limited antioxidant properties, was found to decrease the number of children who became infected with measles as well as the mortality (death from infection) rates after contracting the illness. One of the most popular antioxidants to be studied is a group called proanthocyandins, which are naturally occurring antioxidants in fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds, flowers and bark. These compounds have been shown to have a broad spectrum of biological, pharmacological and therapeutic activities against free radicals and oxidative stress (Oxidative stress reflects an imbalance between the systemic manifestation of reactive oxygen species and a biological

system’s ability to readily detoxify the reactive intermediates or to repair the resulting damage). A specific proanthocyanidin found in grape seeds called GPSE was used in a trial (reported in Science Direct 2003) which compared the scavenging ability of GSPE with those of vitamins C, E and betacarotene. The experiments showed that GPSE is highly bioavailable and provides significantly greater protection against free radicals and consequent damage to tissue than all the above mentioned vitamins. Other studies have focused on cardiovascular health and the benefits of GPSE in this context. In addition to providing protection against cardiovascular disease, GPSE was also found to improve cardiac functional assessment even after a cardiac event like a heart attack or stroke

Selenium A powerful antioxidant that is biologically active once converted into seleno-proteins. Given the crucial roles that seleno-proteins play in regulating Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) in nearly all tissues in the body, it is not surprising that dietary intake of selenium strongly influences inflammation and immune response. In particular, supplementation with selenium was found to effect anti-viral immunity, with particular reference to the influenza virus.

Green Tea Extract Among the group of green tea extracts, epigallocatechin gallate (EPCG) has been found to have the most powerful antioxidant activity. This activity was found more pronounced in patients with extreme oxidative stress, in other words, in patients already diagnosed with some form of degenerative and/or inflammatory disease .

I have not only recommended drinking green tea to many patients over the years, for various reasons, including weight loss, lethargy and helping to boost immune function. For those people (like myself ) who don’t like the taste of green tea, then supplementation is preferable.

glutathione, remains at adequate concentrations. It is therefore vital in all the detoxification phases, without which the human body would be unable to effectively reduce toxic load from all harmful substances, including environmental toxins, alcohol, medications and the like.

Rosemary Extract

Lycopene

Similarly to green tea extracts, rosemary extracts have been found to possess many anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that researchers have focussed on over many years. One of the more interesting actions of rosemary extracts is that of helping to lower blood sugar. A particular study that focussed on Type 2 diabetes (published in Nutrients 2017 Sep; 9(9) and found that certain of the rosemary extracts mimicked current diabetic medications and helped to improve insulin response and reduce the dumping of sugar into the blood stream by the liver (an exaggerated and profound physiological response in diabetic patients). Before we get too excited and start advising our diabetic friends and colleagues to drop all their diabetic medications and just take rosemary extract, there are many more studies and trials that need to take place.

The powerful and colourful compound is responsible for the red and pink pigment seen in fruits and vegetables like tomatoes, beetroot, pink grapefruit, etc. Studies have shown that people who had lower levels of carotenoids (of which lycopene is one) had a higher risk of heart attack and stroke. We cannot simply say that lycopene prevents heart disease but we can deduct that people who eat adequate amounts of coloured fruits and vegetables are generally healthier than those who do not!

N-Acetyl-Cysteine The most relevant fact about this nutrient is that it forms the basis of the semiessential amino acid (protein) cysteine in the body. Cysteine ensures that the body’s most powerful antioxidant compound,

Conclusion In summary it is important to emphasize that taking Proancynol 2000 will not necessarily prevent every disease known to man, but what we do know, is that it DOES provide a cocktail of anti-oxidant compounds that have been shown through clinical trials and other forms of research to improve immune response and overall wellbeing! On a personal note, I NEVER travel without it and always make sure I have at least one bottle in my medicine cabinet.

Herbal Release brings together a variety of herbs with a history of beneficial properties that greatly contribute to inner cleansing of the body, particularly for support of the lymphatic and immune systems. As a central part of the immune system, the lymphatic system is essentially made up of lymph fluid, nodes and vessels as well as organs such as the tonsils and the spleen. This network supports the immune system as it removes pathogens and toxins and generates antibodies and lymphocytes that protect against infections.

I suffered from constipation and started taking Herbal Release in November 2015. I take 3 capsules at night, and Herbal Release has stabilized my bowel problem. It is amazing! Mary Haynes, AIM Director Barrie, Ontario

Herbal Release formula contains 11 cleansing herbs: barberry, buckthorn, cascara sagrada, chickweed, dandelion, echinacea, gotu kola, parsley, kelp, licorice and sarsaparilla. Parsley Combining these botanicals creates an effective herbal release that cleanses and supports the body and its systems in a natural way.

Cascara Sagrada

AIM in the Palm of Your Hand Mobile phones are a worldwide presence. You see people holding these hand-held computers wherever you go, so you have to hand it to Martin Cooper, who invented the first handheld cell phone. Back in 1973, Cooper made the very first call on a cell phone that weighed 2.5 pounds (1.1 kg), measured 9 inches (23 cm) in length and discharged after only 35 minutes of use. Obviously, mobile phones have come a long way since then, growing astoundingly in convenience and usability. And for mobile devices, the AIM website is growing in convenience and usability as well.

Mobile-Friendly AIM These days, around 60 percent of the visits to internet sites are accessed by mobile devices. So it makes sense that AIM has put so much time and effort into the technological advance of making its website mobile-friendly. This means that when you visit www.theaimcompanies. com on your mobile device, every page of the site will be optimized for ideal viewing and accessibility. Additionally, no matter how you hold your device, the AIM website will adjust to the screen width so that you can see and access every page clearly. These are the mobile-friendly moves that AIM is making. nutrition that works / www.theaimcompanies.com

AIM for your gut The microbiome remains a mystery even with all the recent buzz about its importance. And it is often linked to another word: microbiota. According to the Genetic Science Learning Center at the University of Utah, the microbiota is a “collection or community of microbes” while the microbiome is viewed as “the full collection of genes of all the microbes in a community.”1

Mind-Boggling Microbes Both words refer to microbes, microscopic organisms that normally inhabit the human body on the skin, in the mouth, in the gut, etc. And we’re specifically talking about archaea, bacteria, fungi, protists and viruses as well as microscopic animals2 when referring to microbiota or microbiome microbes. One of the most important microbes in the list is the bacteria that dominate the gut, helping to digest food, produce vitamins, regulate the immune system and protect against disease-causing bacteria. The greater diversity of bacterial species you have, the healthier you are. A 2010 Italian study compared the diversity of bacteria in children who ate a modern diet to children who ate a more ancient, plant-based diet. Guess which kids had the greatest diversity of species? Over the years, diets that include burgers and fries may have murdered many species of useful human bacteria. So the crux of the matter is food that feeds people . . . and their bacteria. 10

Seo - Oct 2019 / to order call 011-675-0477

Boosting Bacteria Seriously, who would have thought that large populations of many different species of bacteria—and we’re talking trillions—in your colon actually keep you healthy, which is primarily why the microbiome has become such a buzz word since the late 1990s. Whatever you can do to boost the presence and variety of bacteria in your microbiome, the more boosting bacteria you get in the health department. And getting back to the children in the study who ate a largely vegetarian diet, those youngsters had a high intake of fiber. And specific types of fiber— prebiotics—are dietary delights for bacteria. Eat more fiber and you feed the little buggers that boost your health.

The FloraFood and fit ’n fiber Fit AIM supports the profile of a healthy microbiome with fit ’n fiber’s prebiotics and FloraFood’s probiotics—supplemental healthy bacteria. fit ’n fiber provides three kinds of prebiotic fiber, food for your friendly microbiome inhabitants. And FloraFood boosts the presence of three friendly species of gut bacteria. AIM nutrition is a fine fit for your gut. Both sides of

Inflammation

Inflammation? Doesn’t sound good, does it? Turns out it’s both good and bad. On one hand, good (acute) inflammation is an element of the body’s healing response to infection, toxins and tissue damage. Cut a finger, sprain something or contract a respiratory infection, and the immune system reacts defensively. The resulting pain, swelling, redness, heat, fever or tingling are to help in the healing process. By killing germs and establishing a line of defense, acute inflammation helps to prevent a problem from worsening. On the other hand, bad (chronic) inflammation is a potential horror story. This type can trigger a long list of disorders, including arthritis, asthma, blood flow issues, cancer and diabetes. In fact, it is believed to be at the core of disease. As the word “chronic” implies, this type of inflammation is persistent, so your body is on guard constantly. This is a problem. For example, if inflammatory cells are present for too long in blood vessels, the result can be an increase in plaque buildup. This can

Foods that cause inflammation Try to avoid or limit these foods as much as possible: • refined carbohydrates, such as white bread and pastries • french fries and other fried foods • soda and other sugar-sweetened beverages • red meat (burgers, steaks) and processed meat (hot dogs, sausage) • margarine, shortening, and lard

lead to thickening of the arteries, which increases the likelihood for a stroke or heart attack. A hallmark of the AIM message is nutrition. Eating plant-based food is associated with lessening the ravages of bad inflammation and supporting good inflammation. AIM provides concentrated forms of plant nutrients. While not promising to diagnose, mitigate, treat or prevent disease, there’s a wide variety of whole-food concentrates and natural health products that may alleviate the bad kind of inflammation. Do yourself a favor: eat nutrient-dense foods and take AIM supplements. Since its founding, AIM has been advocating healthy choices that remain true. Along with good habits that include exercising regularly and drinking plenty of water, consuming antiinflammatory, antioxidant-rich whole foods and supplements are investments in yourself that can pay a lifetime of dividends for your immune system.

Anti-inflammatory foods An anti-inflammatory diet should include these foods: • tomatoes • olive oil • green leafy vegetables, such as spinach, kale, and collards • nuts like almonds and walnuts • fatty fish like salmon, mackerel, tuna, and sardines • fruits such as strawberries, blueberries, cherries, and oranges

CELL FOOD

vs

Synthetic Natural Supplements By Charlotte Meschede - Nutritionist

This is a subject that will continue to evoke controversy amongst health professionals. To simplify the argument, let us look at the definition of what exactly is considered a whole food supplement and when is a supplement regarded as synthetic? Whole Food Supplements are exactly that. They are made from foods and presented in a concentrated form, in other words, a whole food like barley leaves have been juiced, then dried and presented as such. Therefore the only difference between the whole fresh food versus the supplement form is water and/or fibre. In essence, this method of supplementation concentrates the natural nutrients occurring in that particular food without chemically changing the structure, amount or adding any other nutrient. It is an excellent way of ‘eating’ more of a particularly nutritious food without the volume that food would normally have. Many people do this through simple juicing. For example ‘green juices’ that consist of juiced spinach, kale, barley and other green leafy vegetables. This is an excellent way of making sure you get the nutrients from said vegetables, without having to eat large quantities. Drying these juices will further concentrate the foods, presenting the nutrients in a more condensed form but still preserving the ‘wholeness’ of that particular food. Foods also contain many other components than simply individual nutrients. Fruits and vegetables also contain phytonutrients that have many other active functions, which facilitate the absorption and assimilation of nutrients. It is a well-known fact that eating 14

Sep - Oct 2019 / to order call 011-675-0477

more fruits and vegetables enhances overall health. Simply extracting the individual nutrients and taking them in pill/capsule form will not elicit the same health benefits. In comparison, synthetic supplements will usually provide one or more individual nutrients that have been chemically manufactured (in a laboratory). The main concern when taking a synthetic vitamin, mineral or trace element, is that whilst it may be chemically similar to the nutrient that occurs naturally in a plant, food contains many other compounds necessary for absorption and assimilation. We were not designed simply to swallow pills and potions and not eat! However, before we dismiss artificial or synthetic vitamins and other nutrients, there are times when taking individual nutrients or specific combinations of nutrients can be recommended and even beneficial. Unfortunately it is easier to overdose on individual nutrients in synthetic supplements than in wholefood supplements. So, should a synthetic formula be your supplement of choice, make sure that you are informed as to possible toxicity if these nutrients are taken in excess. An example would be vitamin A and D supplements as these vitamins are stored by the liver and accumulation in either can have serious if not fatal consequences.

CELL FOOD

Why do people have a need for supplementation? Most people do not obtain enough nutrients from diet alone. This is for a number of different reasons: 1. They do not have access to fresh fruits and vegetables, either because the supply is limited and/or they cannot afford them 2. They do not like eating fresh foods and choose to eat processed food 3. They have one or more food allergies that limits the food choices available to them 4. They may suffer from a chronic disease in which the metabolism of certain nutrients is compromised either due to the disease pathophysiology or to the drugs prescribed to treat the condition 5. They have acquired various lifestyle habits such as smoking that can increase the body’s demand for various nutrients (such as vitamin C and calcium) 6. They may be taking long-term medications which negatively affect the absorption and assimilation of several nutrients

How to Choose between Synthetic versus Natural Supplements In my opinion, there is NO substitute for food. If we were physiologically designed to live off pills and potions, we would not have the complex digestive system, with which we are born. So if you are in a position to eat 100% natural, fresh foods then do so! My advice to patients is always be able to SEE what you are eating as much as possible. Additives such as preservatives, stabilisers and colourants are not visible and do contribute to the toxic burden. In nature, nutrients never occur in isolation, so if you are taking a single nutrient, there

must be evidence to support that you either have a deficiency in that particular nutrient or it has been proven that your genotype has a greater requirement for certain isolated nutrients. DNA testing is very much a currently new diagnostic and informative method of identifying strengths and weaknesses in one’s genetic make-up. These tests are designed to facilitate nutritional programs that will help to achieve a person’s optimal health. However, as I have mentioned earlier, there is NO substitute for food, which should always be considered as the first option in a treatment protocol. Should a person’s metabolic and genetic make-up require supplementation, then the choice of whether to go for whole food supplements versus artificial or synthetic supplements should be based on: • Availability of whole foods and or their supplement counterparts • Identifying which individual nutrients that need boosting • Ensuring that whole food supplementation and dietary modification has been addressed as adequately as possible • Determining whether taking the supplements have had any benefits or not

Conclusion It is unclear how well the body utilises nutrients in supplement form versus natural or wholefood form as this could be nutrientspecific. Research and several clinical trials have confirmed that increasing fresh fruit and vegetable intake on a daily basis will lead to improved health over time, so it makes sense that using a wholefood supplement may have better long term health benefits than synthetic nutrients, but once again, individual circumstances need to be taken into account. Take advice from well qualified and experienced health professionals rather than people with little or no knowledge on the subject.

To Sneeze

or Not to Sneeze Why is it that some people have allergies while others waltz through life without them? Apparently, life isn’t fair when it comes to allergic reactions either. Ask anyone who suffers from seasonal allergies about the unfairness of making it through a long winter only to sneeze their way through spring and summer and they’ll tell you in no uncertain terms just how irritatingly unfair it is to have allergies.

Alleviate with AIM

With seasonal allergic rhinitis, a person reacts primarily to the pollen released from grasses, plants and trees, all of which spring to life after winter. Certain foods may also play a role in triggering allergic reactions to pollen.

The nutrition you add to your dietary intake can also help to alleviate allergy symptoms. LeafGreens and CoCoa LeafGreens contain kale, arugula, Swiss chard and spinach, all of which are natural sources of quercetin. This plant flavonoid is recognized for its antioxidant activity and anti-allergic properties.

For example, wheat has been a dietary staple for centuries in bread and is an ingredient in most processed foods. Over time, people can develop inner reactions related to a family of wheat proteins, amylase-trypsin inhibitors (ATIs), which, according to a 2016 study, promote intestinal inflammation.1

Quercetin naturally inhibits the release of histamines.2 For most people, pollen is harmless. But for those who suffer from seasonal allergies, the immune system identifies pollen as something harmful to the body, so it releases chemicals - histamines - to get rid of it, creating inflammation and allergy symptoms.

This inflammation associated with wheat could be an allergy activator come spring. Anecdotal evidence demonstrates that

Increasing your intake of quercetin-rich vegetables and AIM concentrates such as LeafGreens and CoCoa LeafGreens may

help to correct this inflammatory response to a perceived threat.

FloraFood may also provide relief. With the recent focus on the microbiota’s importance to overall health, it may not be surprising that a 2016 randomized trial concluded that allergy sufferers who took probiotics experienced an improved quality of life.3 The probiotics used in the study were Lactobacillus gasseri, Bifidobacterium bifidum and Bifidobacterium longum, which make up the FloraFood formula. These friendly bacteria may increase the percentage of T cells called Tregs that control the immune system’s response to foreign particles and generate a tolerance for pollen. If seasonal allergies affect you or someone you know, it is good to know that there are non-medicinal steps that can be taken to help alleviate this unnatural body response to something as common as pollen, allowing full enjoyment of a spring that has sprung. Making it

Personal

Sales people continually rattle off the details and pros of products to prospective customers. This is all well and good because a measure of knowledge is vital when you are trying to convince people to purchase something. When it comes to adding a personal touch to sales, there is very little that is more convincing than products that have turned someone’s health around for the better. This is a major reason to consider personal experience using AIM products as an ideal sales tool. In reality, sharing a personal testimonial can be the most convincingly honest sales pitch of all. There’s an element of belief that is required when deciding to choose nutritional supplements. People may or may not believe that a product such as BarleyLife is going to be good for their health in spite of all the product information AIM independent distributors provide. The power of a personal testimonial can firmly plant the seed of belief. Improving your health by taking AIM products is the primary reason people become Members and stay Members. Sharing those experiences is one of the most effective ways of signing up new Members and making a healthy difference in their lives. If you have a story to tell, think of it as a sales tool and use it.

PERSONAL PRODUCTIVITY

The importance of

AIM Celebrations By Bheki Ngidi- AIM Director

First of all, I would like to thank AIM for its promotions that make it possible for us to travel the world. Although it wasn't the first time I went to the US, it felt like the first time because this time I was in Orlando, Florida, the entertainment center of the world. I arrived two days earlier in New York with my wife and we toured New York. The following day we flew to Orlando and we enjoyed touring Orlando also. We went to the Kennedy Space Center and to the Magic Kingdom at Disneyland. The first day of the celebration started on a high note, you could feel the excitement even in the atmosphere of the hall. I was very honoured to meet Mr. Dennis Itami, one of the founders of the company. This was the first time in my life I ever met someone who had the ability to balance humility and humor like he did. I’ve never met a person who is more humble. Meeting him and all the other people from all over the world made me feel closer to the company. I met people that I used to see in AIM's magazines and newsletters. I also met my uplines, the Schieles from Dallas, Texas, whom I never thought of personally meeting at any time in my life. All the speakers on other days were extremely informational. The Q&A session blew my mind, the questions and answers were very beneficial as well, for the first time I understood why our Peak Endurance has a +8 age limit.

Two months before this celebration I was in Las Vegas, attending one of Eric Worre's events and in this event he kept mentioning that it is very important for all networkers to attend their companies' events. After being at this celebration I understood this importance and I can say the same to everyone who is reading this article. Even when you read network marketing business books, you get the same advise, but Brian Gotta’s book, titled “Congratulations, You’re A Millionaire”, summarizes it nicely when it says: “Read motivational personal development books, listen to uplifting motivational, educational tapes, attend enriching, enlivening seminars, and associate with the positive, successful people in your company or organization. Constantly fill your mind with the forward-thinking, inspirational words you need to maintain your optimistic outlook. Do it. It works.” I can't stop thinking of the humorous presentation on the marketing plan by Mr. Ralph Peterson and Michelle Long, totally unforgettable! There's a big difference between watching these things on video and seeing them live, so attending these events is worth the time and effort. Mrs Carolyn Kling-Keech, who is 86 years old,

PERSONAL PRODUCTIVITY

also stressed the important fact of attending the company’s events in her speech titled "Shaping your future, Your 90-Day Plan", a speech that she delivered together with her daughter, Cathy McCrae. Joan van Rensburg said the same thing in her speech. That is how important this is.

After attending this celebration, I am a different person, it has literally changed my life. I would encourage everyone to attend these events, they are well worth the effort. I can't wait to attend the next one in Branson and I would like to say to everyone: "See you there!"

Joan van Rensburg's Chrysalis trainings are highly recommended. The speakers from Chrysalis were exceptional, professional and informative. Their public speaking abilities were extraordinary with their clear, up to the point, well organised and well delivered speeches. What I love most about AIM as a company is that there's no hype. The hype that I saw in all the other companies that I joined before made me extremely uncomfortable. The AIM company also seems to be one of those companies that have gotten the balance between humanity and technology right. Even Nicolas van Rensburg mentioned this in his speech, saying the company will stick to its culture but will use technology to improve its services and products for the service of mankind. I was surprised by the response of the people back home in South Africa when I communicated with them from the States. Their responses were completely different than when I was with them. Almost everyone wished they were with me in America. Even the people I was trying to recruit said they can't wait for me to come back so they can join AIM. That's how important these trips are. It feels different to people when you tell them about this opportunity when you are overseas, especially in America. My wife and I decided to stay for two extra days to continue touring Orlando. We went to SeaWorld and to Wonderworks (to see Orlando's upside down house).

AIM Products gave me my life back

By Carla Pattison- AIM Member

In 2018 I turned 45 and it did not feel good. My body was changing a lot and not in a good way. I really thought I was starting menopause and that I would be extremely overweight by the time I was 50 if things went on the way they did. It felt as if nothing in my body was functioning the way it should. I was retaining water like I did when I was pregnant. My breast size increased by two numbers and my body weight would fluctuate with 5 kg from the morning to the evening on the same day. I felt really uncomfortable in my own body. I called Tanya van der Westhuizen – Nutritional Therapist and AIM Director - in desperate need of advice. I knew I did not want to feel like that for the rest of my life. She immediately calmed me with very good news that my symptoms were caused by infection in my body. Once we had identified what was causing the problem and removed that from my diet, the healing could begin and I would feel amazing. I thought I was eating healthily but I kept on gaining weight. I was surprised by all the foods that were supposedly healthy but that were not good for me. The list of foods that did not cause any discomfort was very short. I started using BarleyLife, Herbal Fibreblend, Herbal Release, GlucoChrom and Renewed Balance cream. I also removed all the wrong foods from my diet. For a month I went through a serious detox because my body was completely acidic. It was a difficult process for me and I called Tanya every few days to ask her if it would ever get better. She motivated and encouraged me to keep on taking the AIM products. After six weeks I started to feel a dramatic change. I lost 7kg and the water retention stopped.

By then I was convinced that removing the foods that caused the problem and building my body with BarleyLife was working. After 5 months I have lost 15 kg, my energy levels are back, I have no water retention, head aches or body pains and I sleep like a happy baby. My body also immediately reacts when I eat something that is not good for me. Tanya is still supporting me with a lot of information and answering all my questions. I was so happy with the results that I started my whole family on BarleyLife.
