Healthy Harvest

Welcome to the October 2024 edition of Living Well magazine.

In this issue, we celebrate the impressive achievements of Chairman’s Club Directors Keith and Charlotte Thompson, who reached the “ Three Million Dollar Club“ by sharing the AIM Opportunity. Charlotte imparts personal insights along with interesting highlights of their 27-year journey with AIM, serving and helping people along the way.

The AIM Companies™ has always endeavored to help people improve their health with products that deliver nutrition that works. October Living Well features a variety of articles that illustrate this objective.

“Brain Health From Greens ” examines the benefits of a plant-based diet that includes leafy greens, and supplementing that intake with AIM’s whole-food powders is at the heart of nutrition that works. Likewise, it exemplifies making healthy supplemental choices: “ Why AIM: A PlantBased Connection.”

Stress impacts all of us, affecting our bodies both physically and mentally. “Anti-Stress Ashwagandha and Curcumin” are two stressrelieving ingredients in GinkgoSense that can help to ease the terribly unhealthy effects of this force on our lives.

“Asking About CranVerry+ & FloraFood ” presents some relevant questions and answers about these natural health products while “ The Excellence of FloraFood ” goes deeper into the selections and source of AIM probiotics that are so good for the gut. And what’s also good for the gut is fiber, as detailed in a “Fresh Focus on Herbal Fiberblend.”

There’s more in this month’s magazine, including “Facebook Feedback on CoCoa LeafGreens” and a look at “ Your Sleep Drive” that takes you to dreamland. Plus, there’s the puzzling crossword that is solved by reading the pages in this issue of Living Well

Anti-Stre Ss

Ashwagandha & Curcumin

AIM’s dietary supplements have a way of targeting the core of health issues using nutritional compounds that work at fixing a problem where it starts. The GinkgoSense formulation takes aim at memory health with the namesake ingredient, Ginkgo biloba. This botanical increases blood flow to the extremities and the brain, delivering more oxygen and glucose for significant improvement in cognitive functions.

One of the most detrimental effects to mental acuity and state of mind is the feeling of emotional or physical tension created by stress. GinkgoSense helps to relieve this debilitating feeling with the inclusion of mainly two botanical ingredients: ashwagandha and curcumin.

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera)

The root of the ashwagandha plant is an anti-stress ingredient from one of India’s most revered botanicals used in Ayurvedic medicine. Ashwagandha belongs to a class of herbs known as adaptogens that help the body to manage stress. An adaptogen such as ashwagandha tends to lower cortisol levels, which rise during stressful times. By managing stressors, ashwagandha has been shown to significantly contribute to body balance when under mental and physical tension.¹

GinkgoSense

6601E, $27.50 M, $29.00 C (CAN 6605E, $30.25 M, $32.00 C)

Curcumin (Curcuma longa)

Sourced from the root of the turmeric plant, curcumin is a phytonutrient belonging to a class of compounds called curcuminoids. While known mostly for its antioxidant and inflammation-fighting properties, curcumin may reduce the impact of stress on the brain and body given its effect on modulating levels of cortisol.² The GinkgoSense formulation also includes black pepper as a necessary helper ingredient for optimal absorption and utilization of curcumin in the body.

The anti-stress activity of both ashwagandha and curcumin help boost the cognitive benefits of GinkgoSense. This shows that even though AIM’s natural health products may target particular health issues, ongoing research often reveals additional benefits from one or more of the ingredients.

Brain Health From Greens

The word “plant-based” gets tossed around like a salad these days. That’s because this source of food is likely the healthiest on the planet. The nutrients and phytonutrients present in beans, fruits, legumes, nuts, vegetables, etc. provide a host of health benefits for your body and all of its systems. Focusing specifically on the central nervous system, the leafy greens that often end up in a salad are proving to be especially beneficial for the brain.

An ongoing cohort study that began in 1997 examined the positive effects on the brain and cognition from consuming green leafy vegetables. Over four years, the Memory and Aging Project gathered information from foodfrequency questionnaires answered by 960 participants ages 58 – 99 years.1

The brain-boosting results were published in the 2018 issue of the Neurology journal. The improved cognitive effects came from eating 1 serving of plant-based foods that included spinach, kale and lettuce salad, all of which were rich in folate, kaempferol, lutein, nitrate, vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol) and vitamin K (phylloquinone).

It was determined that the neuroprotective properties of the nutrients and phytonutrients in leafy greens may help to slow cognitive decline as people age. The healthy compounds may actually have independent mechanisms of action that work synergistically in protecting the brain — another smart reason to go primarily plant-based.

AIM for Greens

The history of AIM began by being able to source the nutrients and phytonutrients unique to young barley grass, which Customers and Members recognize as BarleyLife powder and capsules as well as BarleyLife Xtra The AIM lineup of products expanded to include CoCoa LeafGreens, the further uniqueness of brain-boosting cocoa powders combined with the leafy-green powders of arugula, barley leaf, broccoli sprouts, kale, spinach and Swiss chard.

These whole-food powders from AIM provide supplemental greens that complement a plant-based diet. Taking them daily is a way to increase levels of nutrients and phytonutrients that support the health of your brain and body.

Your Sleep

Two primary processes regulate how you sleep. One is circadian rhythms that act like an inner clock, responding particularly to the onset of darkness and telling you it’s time to go to bed. The other is sleep drive, the feeling of tiredness that increases as the day grows long.

Sleep drive necessarily builds up so that your body gets much-needed rest. It can even make you fall asleep in a meeting or while driving a vehicle. However, your sleep drive can be affected by stress and worry that intensifies psychological arousal, keeping you awake at night even when you’re really tired.

Everyone has nights when apprehension keeps them wide-awake, and the resulting lack of solid sleep makes a person feel rotten the following day, or days depending on the number of wakeful nights.

Poor sleep can lower your energy levels, alter your mood and change your appearance. Worse so, the lack of good sleep affects your brain, immune, heart and metabolic health. Your body is actually at work rejuvenating itself during sleep, so sufficient rest is integral to your wellbeing.

Asking About

CranVerry+ & FloraFood

Two dietary Two dietary supplements in the AIM lineup that are frequently frequently asked about focus on different body systems. CranVerry+ supports the urinary system while FloraFood targets the digestive system.

There is practical information about the optimal use of both products, and the following questions and answers address some of the key elements.

Why is CranVerry+ best taken with food?

One of the ingredients in CranVerry+ is resveratrol, a fat-soluble, polyphenolic compound. Taking it with a meal makes it more bioavailable, so CranVerry+ is best taken with food.

Can both men and women benefit from taking CranVerry+?

Yes, the ingredients of CranVerry+ can provide benefits for the urinary tracts of both men and women. Additionally, continuing research on the unique compounds in cranberry extract reveal a number of other health benefits, including those for the brain, heart and immune system.

Can I take CranVerry+ with FloraFood?

Although CranVerry+ can be used in combination with all other AIM products, the one exception is FloraFood. One of the ingredients in CranVerry+ is beta-glucanase, an enzyme that may reduce the viability of FloraFood’s probiotics. AIM’s recommendation is to take these products separately at alternate meals to avoid the possibility of affecting the good bacteria in FloraFood.

Can FloraFood and PrepZymes be taken at the same time?

No, FloraFood and PrepZymes should be taken separately at alternate meals. The enzymes in PrepZymes will break down the good bacteria in FloraFood if both products are taken at the same time. FloraFood and PrepZymes are both best taken with food but not at the same meal.

Why should I take FloraFood daily?

Giving your gut the three strains of probiotics in FloraFood delivers daily support to your microbiome, which is what science likens to an internal health care system made up of microbes. Increasing your number and diversity of probiotics helps to ensure good bacteria dominate the microbial population.

Are there any side effects from taking FloraFood?

FloraFood is entirely safe to take; however, some detoxification symptoms may be experienced as a result of using this dietary supplement. Please refer to the detoxification datasheet for more information.

What is the source of the bacteria found in FloraFood?

All three strains of bacteria in FloraFood were cultured in a laboratory environment from good bacteria derived more than 30 years ago from a healthy human source, making FloraFood a source of effective probiotics. (Read more about this subject on the next page.)

effective probiotics

The Excellence of FloraFood

The types of good bacteria in FloraFood are three of the main reasons this dietary supplement provides effective probiotics for the gut. Two of the most prevalent native bacteria in humans are Lactobacilli and Bifidobacteria so FloraFood contains Lactobacillus gasseri, Bifidobacterium bifidum and Bifidobacterium longum.

If you have ever wondered how AIM obtained these individual bacteria, then you will be pleased to know that FloraFood probiotics originated from the healthiest of sources. Initially obtained over thirty years ago from a mouth swab of a healthy living infant, the different strains of bacteria on the swab were isolated, identified, purified and then mass-produced. And the entire process was a one-time occurrence that continues to provide the three strains of good bacteria in FloraFood.

or DNA from a human being. A good analogy would be to imagine the bacteria as a bird and the human as a tree in which the bird lives. Just like the bird is its own distinct species and not actually a part of the tree, the bacteria are individual organisms that happen to live inside a human being, just like the bird living in a tree.

It’s important to emphasize that the good bacteria in FloraFood does not contain ingredients, by-products,

What’s more, this source of good bacteria has proven to deliver the most effective probiotics, being able to withstand the acidic passage through the stomach into the gut, where they can increase the population of good bacteria already residing there. This ensures that FloraFood probiotics also help your body to absorb nutrients, synthesize vitamins and interact with your immune system as well as other body systems to support your health. That’s the excellence of FloraFood. FloraFood

Three

Million Dollar Club

Our journey with AIM began in 1997, and by February 2011, Keith and I had become Chairman’s Club Directors. Nothing I could say would fully express our gratitude and appreciation to God for showing us a better path to walk over 27 years ago.

Thank you, Dennis Itami, Ron Wright, the AIM staff and the AIM Companies for the amazing opportunity that has been afforded us. We knew that we had nutritional needs, but little did we know that changing our wellbeing would also affect our wealth and future in such a powerful way.

The Three Million Dollar Club represents many years of building a business, supporting and helping our AIM team in many ways. We surely didn’t get there alone. We appreciate our AIM team who have come on board and helped make this possible.

We genuinely believe that success is not defined by the money one makes but by the lives one changes. Building an AIM MLM business was a new concept for me, but I soon learned it was an opportunity to serve and help others daily. It has been exciting to guide and teach how to duplicate.

We all have a story to tell and mine was growing up in a single-parent home, where

my mom was forced out of the workplace for several years to be a caregiver for her invalid father, forcing us to be on welfare. I was taught the value of caring about others and good work ethics. This created an entrepreneurial mindset in me as a young child. My brother and I sold greeting cards. I did ironing and cleaning for neighbors. Setting my own hours and being independent was always attractive to me.

After joining AIM in 1997, we soon realized attending meetings was very important for the lifeline of our business. In 1998, we attended our first AIM international yearly meeting and never missed one from that time forward. After attending AIM events, we saw the great need to educate our local members with monthly and home meetings.

Twenty one years ago, we felt the need for local annual conferences sponsored by AIM Members. This year we invited other Members around the world to join us. After our local conference was successful, we encouraged and supported our AIM downline Members in organizing

meetings and conferences in their own states. This has created growth in their downlines as well.

If we treat our AIM business like a hobby, it will certainly pay like a hobby. Treat it as a business, and it will pay like a business. Even though we have put in many hours over the past 27 years, we love what we do and enjoy not having either a binding schedule or workplace.

We actually sat in front of the post office in Yellowstone National Park and worked our AIM business. Keith would go inside to mail info packets while I spoke to someone on the phone. What fun our AIM business has been, affording us opportunities that we would have never dreamed of being possible. We have been blessed to travel in all the states as well as abroad several times.

Zig Ziggler once said, “You will get all you want in life if you help enough people get what they want.” I once saw a quote somewhere that spoke to me: “The poorest person in the world is not the one without a nickel. It’s the one without a dream.” We bless others by sharing the great AIM Opportunity!

Congratulations to AIM Chairman's Club Directors

Keith & Charlotte Thompson on their successful AIM journey to the Three Million Dollar Club.

Testimonials should not be construed as representing results that everyone can achieve.

Herbal Fiberblend delivers a combination of plant-based ingredients that helps to maintain digestive health by stimulating regular bowel movements and regularly removing toxins that can accumulate in the body.

Psyllium husk is Herbal Fiberblend’s primary fiber ingredient that increases the bulk and weight of stools while softening them for comfortable elimination.

Soluble + Insoluble Fiber

Psyllium’s soluble fiber regulates the flow of waste material, turning into a bulky gel as it dissolves in water, while helping to keep blood sugar and cholesterol at healthy levels. The insoluble fiber in psyllium doesn’t dissolve in water. It scrubs away buildup and waste from the walls of the intestinal tract to effect thorough evacuation during bowel movements.

(CAN

Psyllium fiber does not work on its own in Herbal Fiberblend. This dietary supplement’s unique formulation includes carefully selected herbs that further cleanse as well as detoxify the small and large intestines.

Herbal Fiberblend is available as both a powder you mix in water and drink as a beverage and encapsulated powder that you wash down with water. Whichever form you choose for improving and maintaining your digestive health, it is important to get adequate hydration by drinking additional glasses of water during the day.

It was over 36 years ago that AIM added Herbal Fiberblend to the product lineup, beginning with a formulation created by Chairman’s Club Director Teresa Schumacher, whose legacy will include improving the health and quality of people’s lives well into the future.

Why AIM: A Plant-Based Connection

The AIM product lineup comes with a commitment to provide great service for Members and Customers who integrate nutrition that works into their lives. AIM’s production of this diverse selection of natural health products has many things in common, including a dedication to assuring product quality and effectiveness using topnotch ingredients that are sourced ethically and sustainably. Furthermore, there’s an emphasis on plant-based formulations.

in the leaves of young barley plants allows AIM to provide BarleyLife, a juice powder with a continuing track record for improving and maintaining people’s health for over 42 years and counting.

Right from the launch of the very first product back in 1982, AIM has been focused on delivering supplemental nutrition that is primarily plant-based, so its whole-food powders and the majority of dietary supplements are derived from the nutrition found in fruits, herbs, seeds, vegetables, etc. These sources of whole foods from the plant world are simply the healthiest forms of nutrition for the vast majority of the world’s population.

A plant-based diet offers the best food options for maintaining good health throughout a lifetime. This lifestyle choice minimizes or avoids the consumption of animal-based and highly processed foods that can have harmful effects on the body.

AIM’s plant-based connection offers an opportunity to increase the dietary intake of nutrients and phytonutrients from a high-quality selection of botanical ingredients. For example, sourcing the unique nutritional profile found only

Delving deeper into AIM’s other food powders such as CoCoa LeafGreens and RediBeets, you’ll find concentrated nutrients and phytonutrients from the nourishing powders of cocoa beans, leafy greens and red beets, all of which are vegan ingredients for making convenient beverages that promote good health.

Then there’s the plant-based fiber and herbs in equally exceptional Fit ’n Fiber and Herbal Fiberblend. For supplemental protein, AIM offers a vegan source in ProPeas pea protein.

Even AIM’s newest product additions contain barley seed extract as the plantbased core of REPLY skincare that works.

Having this focus on a plant-based connection is another of the reasons why AIM is the right choice for nurturing your health from the inside out and the outside in.

Congratulations!
