BrianEnoisamanwhoseWikipediaarticlestretcheslongerthananyambient trackhe’slaiddown,andhis1985“album” Thursday Afternoon isliterallyasingular 1hourtrackthatIwillneverlistentobutIdigress.IfirstcametoknowEno throughhisworkasaproducerformanyfamousactssuchasDavidBowie,U2, TalkingHeads,andSlowdive.Despiteseeinghisnamethroughoutmanywriting andproducingcreditsonalbumsI’vethoroughlyenjoyedsuchas Low byDavid Bowie,and RemainInLight byTalkingHeads,seeingEno’sfirsttrueambientalbum includedinthe“1001AlbumsYouMustHearBeforeYouDie”wasthecatalystthat causedmetogivehimalisten.

Ambient music’s influence to me is pretty widespread, from the soothing nostalgiasoundscapesoftheMinecraftsoundtrack,toanymoviesoundtrack thatNineInchNailsfrontmanTrentReznorhascomposed,eventothe“lo-fi studymix”that’sineveryone’sYoutuberecommendedfeed.Inconclusion,I believeEnosaiditbestthatambientmusicis“Asignorableasitisinteresting.”

Whenthinkingoftitansofthemusicindustryinthemodernworld,someinstant namesthatcometomindareBeyonce,HarryStyles,TheWeeknd,andTaylor Swift.Themusicaljourneyofalloftheseindividualsisincrediblyinteresting,as all of them have in their own right built themself up from something into becomingtheirowngeniuses.ButhowdidTaylorachievegreatnessonthesame levelasthesepeople?Inthesimplestofterms,it’sbecauseshe’samastermind.
TaylorSwiftbeganhercareerasahumbleteenagerwithonealbum,namedafter herself.Despitethisalbumbeingmadebysome16yearoldinPennsylvania,she stoodoutasahighlightinthe2000’s,withthisalbumbeingconsideredoneofthe bestcountryalbumsofthe2000s,andofalltimeinsomelists.TaylorSwift’s songwritingiswhatstoodherapartfromthecompetition;itwasall hers andthisis somethingthathasremainedconsistentthroughoutall10ofheralbums,andher2 rereleasedalbums.ThemusicauthenticallytellsthestoryofhowTaylorwasdoing atthetime.Thealbumthatbestrepresentsthisis Red,her4thstudioalbumtelling thestoryofherprocessingaheavybreakupfromanevenheavierrelationshipthat shehadwithJakeGyllenhal.Thisalbumiscatharticforanyonewhohasgone throughabreakuptolistento,anditshowshertransitionfromcountrytopop.As symphonically this album has more motifs of pop, opposed to more country motifsofthepast.Heralbumsagedwithher,eachalbumshowsmoreemotional maturitythanthelast.

Theconceptofheralbumsagingwithherisexactlywhyshe’ssosuccessful.The fanbase of Taylor, known affectionately as “Swifties” has been through everythingwithher,andthefanbaseageswithhersongs.Asthesongsubjects becamemorematureandintrospective,suchasonhernewerrecordssuchas Evermoreand Midnights sohasheraudience.
Taylor’stitangrasponthemusicindustry,andlegionoffansshowsthewaythat music works in the modern day, through Taylor’s masterful lyrics and raw connectionwithheraudience,sheshowsthatallittakestobesuccessfulisto findyourownniche,andrunyourplatformusingauthenticityandhumility. Therearetwopopularhouseholdpetsthateveryonethinksof–adogandacat.A dogisaman'sbestfriend,whilethecathasbeenworshipedforcenturies.In everyhouseacrosstheworld,dogsandcatsarecommonlyfoundinalmostevery one.Thishasbeentrueformanyyears,stemmingbacktothedomesticationof theirearlyancestors.Ibelievethatcatsarethesuperiorpettodogs.
Thefirstreasonisthatdogssmellreallybad.Adogwillalwayssmellbadno matterwhat,evenifyouwashthem,theywillstillsmelllikeawetdog.Whilea catsmellsgoodandlicksthemselvesclean,withoutthestench.Whichalsogives theconvenienceofnothavingtobatheyourpetalotbecauseacatcandoit themselves,butontheotherhanddogsconstantlyneedtobetakingbaths.
Thesecondreasonisthatcatsareperfectcompanionsforalazypersonsuchas myself.Alltheydoissleepandsleepallday.ThisisperfectformebecauseIdo nothingathome,resultinginmejustlayingdownonthecouchwithmycatjust watchingtv.Whiledogsarehyperandconstantlyneedattention.Theyneedto beplayedwithatalltimesinordertobehappy.
Forthesereasons,Ibelievethatcatsarebetterthandogs,butit'suptoyoutocall mewrongorright.

Fordecades,theovenhasreignedsupremeasnotonlythemostcentraland necessarykitchenappliance,butalsotheonlyoneanycheforhomecookcan trulybakein.Andwhilethemarveloftheovenisofsignificantnote,therehas been, slowly approaching, a competitor to its greatness. Smaller in size, countertop design, buttons and knobs galore, the toaster oven has, in many households,cometoreplacetheovenindaytodaylife.
Thesuccessofthetoasterovencomesinstayingtruetoitsname:initsoriginal design,itisverysimilartotheovenweallknowandlove.Itscompact,"toaster" sizeiswhatgivesittheedge.Traditionally,preheatinganovencantakeupto10 minutes,confusingthecookingprocessandaddinganextralayerofworryto complex dishes. But with the toaster oven, all the doubt is cast aside. Being approximatelyan⅛ofthesizeofanoven,thereismuchlessmatterinvolvedin thepreheatingprocess,allowingatoasteroventoheatto450inmereminutes. Nomoreguessingtherighttimetopressstartorwonderinghowmuchpower you'llusebakingabatchofcookies.Theaveragetoasterovenusesabout1,400 watts of power while in use, on the high end. Similar to a microwave. The averageoven,ontheotherhand,usesupto5,000wattsofpowerwhileinuse. Andnottomention,becauseofthepreheatingtime,ovensneedtostayinuse longer, using even more power. This can make a huge difference over time, especiallyinlowincomehouseholdsnotwantingtotackonextraexpenses.

Thismoviemade105millionUSD,whichisnotalotofmoneycomparedtosome oftheotherHalloweenmovies.AnexampleofthisisHalloweenKills,which made133.4millionUSD.Thatnumbermayseemlikealot,butthatisaprettybig difference.Nowthereasonforthesedifferencesissimple:alotofpeopledidnot likethenewHalloweenEndsmovieforalotofreasons.
Forstarters,themaincharacterMichaelMyerswasreplacedbyakidnamed Corey.Coreyhadmostofthekillsinthismovieandontopofthat,mostofthe killsweresick.TheymadethiskidseemasthoughhewouldbethenewMichael becauseofthewayheactedandhiskills.ThismovieevenhadCoreywearingthe classicmechanicjumpsuitMichaelhasbeenwearingsincethefirstmovie.Corey andMichaelweretagteamingafewpeople,whichisnotMichael'sforte.He worksalonelikemostserialkillers.
ThesecondreasonisMichael’sscreentime,whichwasatotalof10minutes.This moviemadethemistakeofcuttingoutandputtingthevillainofthewholestory inforonly10minutes.Michaelonlyhadabout3kills,whichwereveryplainand boring.Hehadonekill,whichwascool,butagainCoreywastheonewhomainly didit.

Inthisarticle,we’llbetalkingaboutBonobosapes!Whatwasoriginallythought tobeasubspeciestochimpanzeesarenowofficiallyrecognisedastheirown! Howeveritwasn’tunreasonabletothinkthat,giventhesimilaritiesbetweenthe two.Theylookverysimilarandshare99.6%oftheirDNA!Butonceyoulooka littlecloserthe.4%becomessomuchmoreobvious.Therearealotofvisual differencesifyouhavethechancetoseethembothsidetosidethough.
Firstofall,theyhavedifferentskinpigmentation.Chimpanzeeshavemoreofa humancomplexionwithpinkskinwhereasBonobosaretheoppositewithpink tintedblackskin.Bononosalsohavelongerhair,blackears,andtuftsofhairon theircheeks.Chimpanzeesalsotendtobelarger,theaveragemalechimpis132 poundsat4.4feettall;whilethemaleBonoboisabout100poundsat4.3feetand tendstobemoreslenderthantheircousins.

Andfinallymyfavoritepart,theirsociallives!Bonobostendtobemorepeaceful andareledusuallybythefemales.Mostoftheirconflictsaresolved withsex, andthat'salsohowmostoftheirrelationshipsaremaintained.MaleBonobos alsotendtobesurprisinglyeasygoing,whichistypicallyattributedtoselective breeding(withthewomenselectingcalmermen)orcouldalsobeasurplusofthe thyroidhormone.
