REPORT OF FINDINGS
STRUCTURE PLAN PROPOSALS Key Elements 1. New dwellings in the City and periphery, in a new settlement and market towns 3. Expansion of business floorspace 4. Guided bus from Huntingdon to Trumpington 5. A new railway station at Chesterton Issues 5. Growth in jobs and dwellings is presenting major challenges, because housing costs continue to rise as demand outstrips supply. 6. There has also been a failure to deliver the necessary transport infrastructure. This puts at risk the economic prosperity of the Sub-region and its social development.

CONCLUSION
1. Agreed strategic vision amongst the key players, within the various local authorities, business community, academia and the wider community. 2. Coherent structure of strategic planning across an economic sub-region to make decisions about the location of growth, the enhancement of the landscape and the provision of physical, social and cultural infrastructure. 3. Continuity of local leadership from politicians and Planning Directors. 4. Dedicated Delivery Team such as Cambridgeshire Horizons that can support local authorities in implementing their growth strategy. 5. Cross-sector think tank such as Cambridge Futures that works alongside the statutory authorities and can ‘think the unthinkable’ as well as engage local communities in a more open and accessible way than the more formal statutory processes. 6. Comprehensive evidence base for testing and evaluating different strategic options for growth.
