BANQUET REJUVENATION

The Arbutus Club's catering spaces will be receiving an elegant and modern facelift – expected to inspire a renewed interest and offer increased functionality for future banquets and special events

With a storied history of playing host to weddings, business meetings, private dinners, and member events, our third floor banquet spaces are frequently utilized areas. The popularity of the Strathcona and Quilchena Terrace meant the facilities were showing signs of their age and in need of refresh. Following the success of the Arbutus 2020 infrastructure project, there was a unique opportunity to integrate the banquet rooms with the modernized design elements featured throughout the rest of the Club. Creating continuity and flow, the renovation will encompass materials and designs featured in other areas of the Club’s facilities. With a sophisticated and warm palette, attention to detail and careful selection of work by local artists, the West Coast beauty of our surroundings will echo throughout the inside of the new catering spaces. While the footprint of the banquet areas will remain largely unchanged, new features have been integrated into the design to allow for multi-purpose needs. A pre-function bar will be incorporated into the Strathcona Room, providing the perfect opportunity for a pre-event social or cocktail hour and extended functionality. Event experience will also be further enhanced by incorporating seamless audiovisual elements for easy and discreet access. Additionally, the third floor washrooms will also be reallocated, with individualized stalls and washing stations, offering a more private, luxurious, reprieve from the main banquet rooms. Construction began in early January and will continue into the spring. The renovation project hopes to conclude just in time for a warm summer of socializing. A new calibre of event experience is coming to the Club and we can't wait to see you host your next event with us. ♦
