about us... The Artisan Group™ is on a mission to introduce Hollywood to the best of the handcrafted movement. We do it by providing owners of artisan businesses the opportunity to introduce their products to celebrities, industry leaders and members of the press through participation in major award show gift lounges such as those leading up to The Academy Awards*, The Golden Globes* and The Primetime Emmys*. Because The Artisan Group takes a collaborative approach to participation in these lounges, a marketing opportunity that would be prohibitively expensive for most small companies becomes surprisingly affordable. The Artisan Group also offers members guidance in sales, marketing, social media and public relations. Members of The Artisan Group showcase an array of handcrafted products, including jewelry; bath and spa products; designer stationery and paper goods; crocheted accessories; children’s apparel and toys; hair accessories; purses and totes; hand-poured candles; hand-bound books and journals; illustrations and paintings; hand-dyed scarves; fine art photography; pet accessories and toys; and woodworked items. Need help sourcing a specific type of handcrafted product or gift? Contact us, and we’ll email you links to our member’s shoppes that best match what you’re looking for. We’re happy to help! If you’d like more information about The Artisan Group, or any of the artists included in our exhibit, send an email to info@theartisangroup.org. Sincerely, Valerie Guerrero Founder, The Artisan Group

Jody Edwards Jody Edwards Fine Art JodyVanB.etsy.com As the mother of two raucous young boys, Jody Edwards’ time to create comes at night after her kids are asleep. Being a night owl has served her well. She started painting small “nightly studies” in the wee small hours of the morning three years ago. After opening a shop online it was soon evident that her feather studies were the most sought after. Jody’s art can be found in private art collections worldwide. In an effort to “give back” to the birds whose feathers she has painted and to draw attention to the conservation of threatened species, Jody is donating 50% of the sales of her Raptor-related prints to the Mountsberg Raptor Centre.

Marni Fernandes Papaya Blue Designs PapayaBlue.com When Marni was seven years old she would play in her mom’s jewelry box, layering necklaces until she could not keep her neck up. She would then take them apart and recreate them into something wholly different. Looking back on this fond memory and many others, Marniʼs “a-ha” moment to become a jewelry designer has been an evolving process inspired by her travels, relationships and curiosity. Without these experiences she would not be able to create the pieces with the depth and personal meaning as she does now. Each element has its own distinct shape, texture and feel. When assembled they create a piece that is as unique as the person wearing it.

Alexis Gopal Alexis Gopal Jewelry AlexisGopal.com The books were packed away when life took a turn for Alexis Gopal, M.D. Changes in her personal life led to big decisions in her professional life, and this established doctor found herself returning to a childhood hobby for comfort... jewelry design. Alexis moved her focus to family and other life experiences perfect for generating inspiration. She was immediately reminded that healing comes not only in medical terms, but also in the symbolism of the adornments we select and the emotions they evoke in us. The pieces grew into collections, and quickly garnered a following. Today, orders for Alexis Gopal Jewelry come from as close as her Connecticut locale to the opposite side of the world.

Ashley Griffith The Gnarly Whale TheGnarlyWhale.com Despite living in the frozen tundra, avid beach bums Ashley and Nathan Griffith ensured that their love for the ocean always accented their most important life events. After being engaged on the Santa Monica Pier and tying the knot on the sands of Jamaica, it was no surprise that their drive for career freedom would collide with their yearning for more sand between their toes. Combine this with their hope for a greener Earth and The Gnarly Whale was born. Their goal is to provide minimal ingredient, vegan bath and beauty luxuries to men and women around the world while leaving the Earth a better place than when they found it.
