elcome to Bass Performance Hall. On behalf of the Performing Arts Fort Worth staff and Board of Directors, I thank you for joining us.
We are ecstatic that tonight, one of the Lone Star State’s finest singer songwriters, Robert Earl Keen, takes the Bass Hall stage for the first time since 2019. While REK is no stranger to the Hall, this show will be his first on our stage after wrapping up 41 years on the road in 2022. With a bluegrass flare all his own, we are thrilled to have him back in this solo acoustic show for his iconic storytelling and songs. Robert Earl Keen comes to Bass Hall as a special addition to our 20232024 BNSF Popular Entertainment Series. This incredible lineup continues at Bass Hall with the return of the immersive concert-style theatrical experience, The Simon & Garfunkel Story on March 21; and introducing Bluey’s Big Play, the brand-new stage show based off the hit television series, March 23-24. Then across the street at McDavid Studio, just announced this week, Dixie’s Tupperware Party will return April 11-14, followed by the series conclusion with the UNT One O’Clock Lab Band Spring Showcase, May 3. Tickets to all BNSF Popular Entertainment shows are on sale now.
Next up, the 2023-2024 Broadway at the Bass Series presented by PNC Bank continues with two back-to-back hits. Embark on a Whole New World of Broadway magic with Disney’s Aladdin, January 31 – February 4, followed by TINA – The Tina Turner Musical, February 6-11. Visit www.basshall.com for more show information and a full list of all the shows currently on sale. Finally, thank you to all of our sponsors and donors for their generous contributions and continued support. Now, please help me welcome back to the Bass Hall stage the one-and-only Robert Earl Keen.

ABOUT ROBERT EARL KEEN A Houston native, Robert Earl Keen has been regarded for decades as one of the Lone Star State’s finest singersongwriters. The first Americana artist to be featured on the Americana Music Chart, Keen was weaned on classic rock and Willie Nelson records. By the time he entered Texas A&M University, he was teaching himself guitar playing Bluegrass and setting his poetic musings to song. These early days are captured in spirit on the Keen/Lyle Lovett co-write, "The Front Porch Song," which both artists recorded on their respective debut albums, and in Happy Prisoner, REK’s bluegrass recording. Now with 21 records to his name, a band of stellar musicians, and thousands of shows under his belt, Keen has blazed a peer, critic and fan-lauded trail that’s earned him livinglegend status in the Americana music world. In July of 2021, POLLSTAR ranked Keen on its Top 20 Global Concert Tours. REK is a 2018 Texas A&M Distinguished Alumni Award recipient, and a member of Texas Heritage Songwriters’ Hall of Fame and The Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame. Keen continues to write music and create with his latest album, Western Chill, available now via boxed set which includes a double sleeve album, a graphic illustrated novel inspired by the album, a play and sing-along songbook for all fourteen songs and a video DVD of the Robert Earl Keen Band performing the entire album at Keen’s Snake Barn studio space. He is also the host of the Americana Podcast, launched in 2019.
