Welcome to TakeOff FESTIVAL 2014 A warm welcome to you and your school as we introduce another jampacked week-long festival of children and young people’s theatre. TakeOff Festival 2014 brings a fantastic programme of shows to more venues across the North East than ever before, to inspire young imaginations. We would love you to join in on the celebrations, so here are some answers which may help with your booking.

What is TakeOff Festival? TakeOff Festival is England’s leading festival of theatre for children and young people. The festival has been in the North East for 16 years, but this year’s festival reaches out to a record number of venues across County Durham and Teesside with shows, workshops and fun for schools and families. TakeOff Festival is produced by Theatre Hullabaloo, the North East’s specialist producer of theatre for young audiences.

When is it? The festival runs from Mon 20 – Sun 26 October 2014. This brochure specifically gives you information on when you can bring your school's group during school hours.

Who is it for? TakeOff Festival is programmed to bring the joy of live theatre to thousands of children across the North East. Our programme includes work suitable for students from EYFS to Key Stage 4.

What can we expect to see? We have a busy programme of theatre, dance, poetry and play, from some of the finest theatre companies from the UK and abroad.

We’re not close to a theatre – can we still come? Yes! We want as many children in the North East to access the festival, but we know that hiring buses can be expensive. We are working with our transport partners to offer an affordable integrated bus and ticket deal. We’ll even coordinate your travel and risk-assess your visit so that you have one less thing to organise.

This all sounds marvellous, how do we get involved? Have a flick through this brochure, see which shows you think your young audience will enjoy, then chat to our TakeOff Festival Manager Lucy to arrange the booking on 01325 352 004 or email lucy@theatrehullabaloo.org.uk
