In their most dangerous show ever The Nualas break the mould they made previously with a deluge of new songs, higher harmonies, different keys and slightly shorter dresses, if that’s possible! And there’s more – expect new Nuala revelations, harder laughs, slicker riffs, and even tighter foundation wear, if that’s possible! When this show pre-viewed in Dolan’s of Leitrim at least three Gardai and a relationship counsellor had to be called. As part of their ensuing community service (six weeks scooping out litter from the Shannon) the girls were obliged, as a warning, to call this sweltering new show: LOCK UP YOUR HUSBANDS. You have been warned. “The Nualas have put comedy and music in a blender and come up with a world class soufflé.” – The Times, London

rough magic presents the world premiere of

FAMISHED CASTLE By Hilary Fannin. Directed by Lynne Parker. An accidental meeting in a snow-locked airport reunites former lovers Angie and Nathaniel. Ten years have passed since their parting. In that time Angie has remained in Ireland, marrying and having children, staying faithful to her profession as a teacher. Nathaniel, meanwhile, has patched together a life in Berlin, where he currently lives with his girlfriend, a young economist. The intervening decade has also seen Ireland wake up to the crucifying hangover of the tiger economy. As the country counts the empties from the days of plenty, both financial and emotional, Angie and Nathaniel retrace the actions and inactions that led to the sudden death of their love affair. Illuminated by the unflinching light of snow, the couple revisit a festive night ten years before, a birthday dinner with his parents, when with corks popping and cuff links glittering, the family’s ravaged past pulled up a seat at the table, destroying their future. “Hilary Fannin’s script is wonderful: irreverent, deliciously bawdy and bang up to date.” – The Sunday Business Post on Phaedra

You never know, he might turn you from a pauper to a prince just like the hero of this story, brought to vivid life on our incredible sloping stage by Patrick Lynch from Cbeebies. Using smoke and mirrors and hidden trapdoors he’ll show you how this sure-footed feline fools both the King and the Ogre to put his master at the top. With a host of puppets, a working windmill and an avalanche of fruit and nuts come and see this classic furry tail, it’s the cat’s whiskers!
