Your Smile Makes Me Happy Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;m walking right beside You, Jesus. Youâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;re much taller than me, but all I have to do is pull on Your loving hand and You bend way down so that You are looking right into my eyes. You have such a beautiful smile, Jesus! Running with Jesus

Oh, Jesus, I love to run with You When the day is so pretty and new. My dearest Friend, this is really fun! You like to pick flowers too? Oh, Jesus, where did You go? You like to play hide and seek? There You are behind that tree! Hey, I saw You peek! You are always with me when I run and play. You never leave me; You always stay. If I want to hop, You hop too, And running is, oh, such fun with You!

I’m Y our Little Girl Your Jesus, I love You! I love You! I’m Your little girl! You pick me up and You hold me so tight! I’m so little; my arms can’t even reach around Your shoulders. But You still pick me up, and You hug me, and You hold me, and You kiss me on the cheek, and You tell me You love me, and that I’m Your little girl. Even when I feel like I’m a big mess, You tell me that You think I’m beautiful; and I don’t understand it, ’cause I feel like such a messy little girl. But You still hug me even when I feel that way. Or sometimes my hair isn’t brushed and my clothes are all messed up. I have scrapes on my knees, and I’m kind of scuffed up. Or sometimes I try to make myself look bigger, or be different, and You tell me, “You don’t need to do that! I like you the way you are, My funny, huggable little girl.” 8

I really, really love You! I wish my arms could go all around You and reach the back of Your back, but I canâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t do that, so I just try to hug what I can get my arms around. But Your arms go all around me, almost two times! I feel so safe in Your big arms. I like to snuggle up to You; it feels so good and warm. I love You, Jesus!

Giggly Wiggly! Giggly, giggly, wiggly, wiggly. Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;m Your giggly wiggly little one. Snuggily, wuggily, buggily, muggily. I just want to snuggle up and cuddle up to You. I love You! 9

You’re Always Holding My Hand Jesus, I’m so glad that You hold my hand. The Bible says You hold our hands. Your big, strong hand is securely wrapped around mine. I love that! I need it! It’s important to me, and I feel so safe to know that You are always holding my hand.

Big and Little Me! Jesus, You’re so big and I’m so little! I can’t figure out how You can keep up with me when You have so much else to do! I just know that I love You for being so big and so great, and I love You for loving me when I’m so little. Thank You for loving little me.

Thank You, Jesus, for my big bubble bath! I love to play in the bathtub with all this water and soapy suds! It’s so much fun! I’m so happy that my mommy lets me play in here for a long time. She sits nearby and reads, and lets me play and play. Thank You Jesus! I like to splash and have fun! Water is so neat! I don’t know how You made it, but I love it! Sometimes I think about all the water there is in the world!

Nap Time I will hug You, You will hug me, I will jump in Your lap. I will tickle You, You will tickle me, Before I take a nap!

Right with Me Jesus, I am very small, and when I walk around the house, everything looks so big to me. I have to look way up if I want to see anything or anybody. It takes a lot of work to climb on chairs, so sometimes I just like to sit on the floor. But, Jesus, every time I want to look at You, I donâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t need to look way up, because every time I look around, Youâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;re right here beside me, sitting with me on the floor. I can just crawl into Your lap, and You can hold me so tight, with Your arms around me. And I can put my head on Your shoulder, just like when my mommy used to pat me to sleep when I was a baby. You can rock me gently back and forth. I can feel Your love, and I can snuggle up real close to You. Thank You for being right with me, Jesus, small as I am.

Thank You for my mommy who sings to me. I love my mommy! I couldnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t have a sweeter mommy in the whole wide world. Thank You so much for her. I love the way she sings to me and tucks me in at night. She takes care of me and plays with me and tells me stories. Sheâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s really wonderful! Thank You for my mommy, Jesus. 20

My Special Angel! Jesus, thank You for such love That you gave me an angel from up Above! My own special angel for eternity! Everywhere I go, my angelâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s with me.

Your Love Is All Around Us Thank You, Jesus, for Grandma’s dog that I got to pet today. His coat was so soft and smooth, like velvet. And he looked up into my face with such a loving look in his eyes. He looked like he just loved me so much. I hugged him around his neck real big. That was so sweet, Jesus. Your creatures are such wonderful things, Jesus. I know it’s a little touch of Your love to make us happy. Thank You, Jesus! Thank You for giving us Your love in so many ways. Thank You, Jesus, for all the things You do for me. You’re such a terrific Friend, and I love You!

When the Lights Go Out I used to get worried when the sun would go down and the night would come. Everything was okay when the lights were on and we were all playing and having fun together, but because it was nighttime and kind of dark in my room, I didn’t want to go to bed. I used to cry when Mommy would tell me it was time to go to sleep. I don’t cry anymore, Jesus, because now I know that as soon as the lights go out and I’m tucked into my bed, I can close my eyes and think about You. I can tell You everything that I did, and You can tell me all kinds of neat secrets. You can tell me lots of fun things that I didn’t even know before. Sometimes You don’t tell me anything, You just listen while I talk to You. It’s so nice to have Someone to talk to when it’s dark. So now I like going to bed, because that’s one of the times when I can hang out with You, and that’s lots of fun. You’re the funnest Guy. I love You, Jesus! Thanks for being my Friend. Pet

Thank You, Jesus, for our pets. Each one means a lot to me. I think a lot about our pets, and it makes me so happy to see each one. Our puppy wags his tail till his whole body wiggles; he’s so happy to see me! He’s super cute. Our cat rubs against me like it wants to give me a hug, then plops in my lap and curls up in a ball. The birdie chirps and jumps all around her cage like crazy, she’s so happy to see me! My turtle pokes out his head and loves to eat the 26

lettuce I bring him. He looks up at me and I think he smiles. That’s how he tells me, “Thank you!” I love pets, Jesus! Thank You for giving us our pets and for helping us to take care of them. When I think about it, Jesus, I’m like Your pet. You’re happy to take care of me, too. That means that You must be happy, too, when I am happy to be with You, and when I take time with You, and when I praise and thank You when You bring me what I need. Help me to show You lots of love and thanks and joy for Your loving care for me, just like our pets do with me. I want to show you that I’m really happy to spend time with You, like our puppy shows me when he wags his tail. I want to curl up in Your arms, like our soft kitty does with me. I want to sing praises with all my heart like our pretty parakeet. I want to look up at You like my turtle looks at me, and thank You for all You give me and for how You take care of me. Thank You, Jesus, that I’m Your pet! Help me to be obedient and good. You’re the best Caregiver there could ever be!—Ever! I’m smiling at You!

Here with You Jesus, I just want to tell You that it’s so nice to curl up on my bed at naptime where it’s nice and warm and snug and comfy! I can look out my window and see the sunlight and the pretty clouds in the sky. It’s so nice to be here with You! I know You’re right here beside me. You take care of me and I love You. Thank You for taking care of me.

All the little birdies and the flowers shout Your praise and give glory to Your Name. The kitty cats and the doggies, the children and each one of us praise You and thank You for Your wonderful love. Hi, Jesus! This is me. I love You! Here’s a big hug and squeeze from me to You. You make me so happy, Jesus. I know I have lots of blessings, and it’s because of You. Thank You for all of my blessings. When I get to Heaven I’d like to sit on Your lap and give You a big, big hug around Your neck. I guess I can already do that right now, can’t I? I can tell You I love You, and I can imagine giving You a big hug and squeeze around Your neck in the spirit. I know that You like hugs and that You can feel it when I hug You! Jesus, don’t feel bad if some people don’t like ’em, Because I like spiders and I like bugs. And I like earthworms and I like frogs! I like all kinds of creatures that crawl —Jumping things and slimy things and wiggly things and creepy things. I know some aren’t safe to touch, but they sure are interesting! Too bad that some people don’t like ’em, Lord, but I wanna thank You for them all! ’Cause I like ’em—lots! I think they’re cool! I think You did a great job! Thanks! 31

I Sing Because I’m Happy!

Jesus, sometimes I just feel like singing because I’m so happy! Sometimes I make the words up as I go along and I sing a praise song to You, and I know You like that. Thank You for all the songs that I’ve learned. I really like them!

Jesus, You just hold everything together, big and little! You’re like the biggest and best glue in the whole wide world. You hold things together so they don’t fall apart. I Want to Make YOU Happy Some people hate and blame You, and even curse Your Name, But all You’ve been to me is great, so I want to praise Your Name! I bet You could use some encouragement since some people are mean to You. I sure want to make You happy, because of all the good You do! You’re always strong, You’re always near, You never ever fail me. I can depend on You, Lord, and Yours I want to be! I love and appreciate You, Jesus, I praise You with my whole heart. How-I-Love-Ya! “How-I-love-Ya!” That sounds like “hallelujah!” I made up a bunch more new praise words to show my love and thanks to You, Jesus! Here they are. I hope You like them! “Glistfully-I-love-and-praise-You!” Is that one too long? “With-a-great-big-whole-heart!” “I-love-You-super-big!” That’s a lot! “Big-as-the-sky-full!” That’s a big word, huh? “More-than-the-ocean-holds!” Ha, ha, ha! “Every-cloud’s-a-praise-ball” full of praise for You! “A-trillion-zillion-thanks!” “Love-as-big-as-life”—that’s what I feel for You! “Appreciate-a-ton!” “Rejoice-full-always!” I hope You like these words, do Ya? How-I-love-Ya!— HALLELUJAH! 7

Did I Ever Tell You? Jesus, did I ever tell You “thank You” for letting me be born, For giving me dear parents, and a home so clean and warm, For loving brothers and sisters, and people around me who Give their lives and time to teach me all about You? There’s just so much to explore, so much to do and see, Plus learning as I grow up, to be what You want me to be! There are thousands of fun things that I just love to do. Mommy tells me they’re blessings given to me, from You! I’m so thankful to realize when I’m out riding my bike, That You gave this to me because it’s somethin’ that You knew I’d like! Then there are also lots of games that I love to play— How did You know that those would brighten up my day? My favorite is story time at night with Mom and Dad. Tell me, is that another good idea You had? This life seems to be so full of these and other pleasures! Daddy tells me if we love You, You pour blessings on us without measure! I’m going to try to be loving, and give life my best shot, And most importantly, I want to love others a whole whole lot! ’Cause from all that I’ve seen and from all that I’ve heard, “Awesome” hardly describes Your blessings in a word! 8

I feel so happy just in knowing that You care, And You take time to answer all of my prayers. So for all that You’ve given me, in every way With my whole heart I want to love and praise You today! With a little song or two and a cheerful prayer, I just wanna say, “Jesus, thanks for all Your care! Thanks for Your protection, and Your guidance too, And for all the fun kid things You’ve made for me to do. “Thanks for Your creation, and all that I see, And thanks a lot for loving me!”

Miracles and Stuff Lord, help me remember to thank You! I just don’t tell You enough. You do so many super things, Miracles and all kinds of stuff! Jesus, help me remember to praise You! You’ve been so good to me! I know that praising pleases You. And brings Your blessings down on me!

We Are God’s Gliders I’m sitting here looking up at the sky. It’s just so huge, so blue, so wide! It seems like it goes on and on forever! Then I start thinking about the glider that my dad made with me, and how sometimes we go out together up on a hill and fly it. It flies so smoothly, it just sails and on and up it goes. It makes me want to fly. I got this little picture in my mind of how one day soon, when we go up to Heaven to be with You, Jesus, You’ll take us just like the wind takes that little glider, and You’ll teach us how to fly, and we’ll go “whoosh” through the air. It’ll be such a neat feeling! Thank You, Jesus, that we can look forward to a whole new world after this one, with so many exciting things. Thank You that we’re going to be able to fly and have supernatural bodies and special powers! And thank You for all You made me able to do now, even though I can’t fly yet. 10

It sure is fun flying my glider, and it’s so much fun thinking about Heaven and all the exciting things we’ll be able to do. Well, it’s fun just to praise You for it, and to thank You for it in advance. Thanks for letting us know about it. It’s exciting.—I can hardly wait!

Every Blade of Grass I could never get bored of praising and thanking You for all You do! Thank You, Jesus, for loving me. I see Your Love all around, in every blade of grass, in every beautiful tree. I love You, Jesus. Thank You for helping me. Thank You for loving me daily and for all eternity. Thank You, Jesus! I like to hear your praise and appreciation. You talked to Me so sweetly and told Me all that was on your heart. One of the most important things for you to learn, and one of the most important things for you to understand, is that Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;m right here with you in everything you do. All good and perfect gifts that you have come from Me. I give them to you to make you happy, to help you to learn, to help you to grow, to help you to understand how things are made, why things are made, why I made everything the way I did. Thank You for being my big Brother. You’re so much fun to walk with. I’m so thankful that I can get to know You. When we walk together, I see neat things. I read about when the disciples walked with You, and it makes me super excited to know that I’m a disciple too. I’m just like one of them and You need me, just like You needed them! Amazing!

Jesus, You’re just the greatest! I love You! I was looking in my fish bowl and thinking how amazing it is that fish can swim underwater and breathe! It’s really cool that things can live underwater. That’s just great! I’d like to know how You came up with such a neat idea. I think it’d be fun to be able to live underwater too! I know I can’t yet, but I think in Heaven I’ll be able to, too. So thanks, Jesus, for all the fun things You make and do! I think You’re absolutely amazing! I love You! 20

Someday I’ll Fly Higher than a Dove When I hear the hum and buzz of the airplanes in the sky, I get all excited and get a fluttery feeling inside. I run and look out the window, wishing I could catch a ride, and my love of flying is obvious to everyone. I could never hide it! Then I stop and think, “Why do I long to fly?” And Jesus whispers in my heart, “It’s a little hint of things to come, of when you’ll be able to glide in the sky without wings!” So I settle back down again, knowing in my heart that in God’s good time, one day we’ll fly through the skies to Heaven. It makes me want to do all that I can to be a faithful witness for Jesus now, and to love others with His love. So when I begin to look at the planes in the sky above, Jesus sweetly reminds me that one day I’ll fly higher than any dove! — Higher than those planes above! 21

I’m So Glad You’re My Friend! I’m so glad I have You as my Friend, Jesus. Sometimes I just want to talk with my friends, but they’re not around. Or I want to tell my mommy something, but she’s busy. Sometimes I get so excited I am bubbling over with joy! I try to tell people the way I feel, but not everyone seems to understand exactly what I feel inside. I like to talk to You. You understand. It’s kinda hard, though, and doesn’t seem as much fun sometimes to talk to Someone I can’t see. I wish I could see You just like when You were alive on this Earth. I would run up to You and talk to You like all the children did when You came and walked down the street. I wish so much that I could do that too. But now, You’re in the spirit world and can be everywhere at once, so this way all of us children all over the world can share You just the same. We can spend as much time with You as we want! Though it’s kinda funny not to see You here with me when I talk with You, I’m just so glad to know that You are with me. And I think the more I talk with You and tell You all the fun things that I feel I just have to tell somebody or I’ll burst, then I’ll get used to You being right there in the spirit world and won’t mind so much not being able to see You yet. And actually, I think it’s better this way, as You’ll know more about me than my friends do. I can only tell them about me, but You can see inside how I feel and what I’m like, the things I’m thinking and so much more. I can be real honest with You, as You said in Your Word that You’d love me no matter what. So I don’t have to worry about losing You. You’re wonderful, Jesus! Thanks for being a great pal! 22

The Praise Boomerang

Praise is a boomerang, you know? Itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s amazing how it works! We throw up our hands and toss You some praises, And blessings pour down to brighten our faces! We throw You some more with sweet adoration, And You flip back more blessings with appreciation! So we praise You again for what You just did, And before we know it You take off the lid,

And pour out more goodness than we can imagine, Bigger than barrelfuls that come in huge wagons! The more we pour out, the more we receive. Praise is a boomerang of blessings on me! 23

If I Were a Bird If I were a bird, a beautiful white bird with soft feathers and a beautiful, sweet voice, do You know what I would do, Jesus? Well, there are a lot of things that I would do. I would fly around, so high! I would sing beautiful songs. I would be free to soar on the wind. It would be nice to be a bird, but I think that I’m happy being what I am. It’s kind of the same as being a bird because I can sing beautiful songs to You. I can lift up my little voice and I can chirp out that I love You. And then, when I’m sitting in my chair, I can close my eyes and my spirit can fly up, up, up to see You.— Burst up like a rocket, fly right into Your arms, just like a jack-in-the-box, springing up to see You, and throw my arms around You in the biggest hug! Birds can’t give hugs like I can give hugs, so I think maybe I’d rather be me. I can run around and do things. I can love You, I can love my family. Yes, I’d definitely rather be me.

My Wonderful Family Thanks, Jesus, for giving me people who I feel close to and who love me. Thank You for taking such good care of me and loving me and giving me wonderful people to live with — my family. That’s really sweet. I know there are many lonely kids in the world who don’t have anyone who loves them — but they’ll always have You! Thank You, Jesus, that You love the lonely kids.

I Have So Much to Be Thankful For! Jesus, sometimes it’s hard to really put into words all the things that I am thankful for and that I want to tell You about. There are so many things! The words don’t come very easily, but that doesn’t mean I’m not thankful, Jesus. 24

If I Couldn’t TTalk alk Lord, if suddenly I couldn’t talk at all, and I had no words to say, How would I praise You for the rest of the day? I guess I’d have to think of some new ways to show You love, So You’d still know I was thanking You. You’d look down from up Above, And there I’d be winking at You, and that’s my way of saying “Hi!” Or I could clap my hands for You and sing a song inside. I could whistle a happy tune and You’d know what I mean, Or I could blink my eyes to show I’m thankful for all You’ve done. Or smile real big and nod my head And remember the wonderful Words You’ve said. Or maybe I’d just point to things that I’m real thankful for. I guess there’re lots of ways I can show You more and more That I sure like all that You are, and all You do for me! Thank You for my voice, Jesus, so I can praise freely!

Give and TTake ake Lord, I guess I wasn’t very thankful for my parakeet until he flew away. I just didn’t appreciate how good it was to have him around. His friendship meant a lot to me when I came in from play. Now he’s gone and I feel bad, and I miss him a lot. But I guess if he had not flown away, I wouldn’t have learned to be more grateful for what I have. So, Jesus, thanks for the time I did have to enjoy that neat pet. Now I see how good You’ve been to me in other ways and how You have given me so very much. Thanks for everything You’ve given me, and all that You do for my sake. I love You and thank You and praise You, Jesus, for all that You give and take! 27

I Have a Friend in Heaven Jesus, I have a little friend who lives in Heaven with You. I asked him to tell me how he praises You. He said he thanks You for the wonderful time with us on Earth, that he was able to shine Your love on others and win souls for Your Kingdom, and he gives You all the glory for that. Jesus, thanks for helping me to win souls for Your Kingdom, too. My friend told me that he is so happy to hear Your voice encouraging him, training him and helping him each day. Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;m glad I am beginning to hear Your voice like that, too. Thank You for speaking to me, Jesus, and helping to train me and lead me and grow me up for You! My friend said that You really like it when we sing and praise You and thank You for all that You do. Thanks so much for all You do for me, all those fun things. I really like singing. Okay, Jesus! I just wanted to let You know how much I love You! Thank You for all our dear ones in Heaven who help us! I love You!

Looking at the Rain

I’m sitting here at my window, looking out at the rain falling. So many droplets of water coming from the sky. You’re sending all the little rain drops down for me to see, just like all the droplets of blessings that You send down on me every day. Maybe a fresh shower of rain is like Your love. The rain falls on the ground and makes it all soft, and makes the plants grow and the flowers start to bloom. It makes the farmers happy. When You send down Your love on me, You make my heart all soft and warm. You make me feel happy inside. I feel loved and cared for. These are the feelings that I get when I think about You, Jesus. You’re so special to me! And when I look at the rain, I think about You and everything that You send me every day. I just want You to know that I love You! Thank You for everything that You do. 29

A Kid Just Like Me Jesus, You were a kid before, weren’t You? And You grew up just like me. You had parents and You had fun, And I guess You even fell and scraped Your knees! I’m sure You had pets and I’m sure You had friends, And You probably liked to play and get dirty. I never really thought about this before, But did the girls who You knew ever act flirty? Hey, that means, Lord, that since You were a kid, Just like me in Your days, Then You know what’s going on inside of me, Even in those secret ways. That means You really understand And You know what I’m going through, And You liked the same things that I like! You know what all kids do. So thanks for coming to live in our world And for all that You learned and could see. Thanks for knowing what makes me happy, And for having been a kid just like me.

The Sky Is Your Canvas I love the way the sunset bursts across the sky. It’s so beautiful. So red! So golden! And big! You are the greatest artist there is. I love You, Jesus, because I know You love me. You make me so happy.

Extra Super Special! Super special! That’s what You are! How do I explain what it means to me that You’re so super special? Jesus, You are so extra super special to me, that I can’t even tell You how great You are! I want to make You happy, I want You to be pleased with me. Thank You for making me feel super special to You, because You are extra super special to me! 32

It’s so exciting! There’s so much to look forward to! You have so much for us to do. I can’t imagine all there is to do! It’s so fun and it’s so exciting! I’m so thankful, Jesus, that You’ve taught me to rest in Your arms. Jesus, Y ou Are the Best! You If I were to sit down and think of all the nice things You’ve done for me, it could fill up books and books and books! Jesus, You’re the best thing that ever happened to me! You’re so huge and You have the whole universe to take care of, all the planets, the sun, the moon, all the people in the world and all the animals. And yet You love me so and You listen when I talk to You, and You do special things for me! You give me special treats, the food I like, the things I like to do and the places I like to go. You keep Me growing strong and healthy. You give me nice clothes to wear, friends to play with, books to read. There are so many wonderful things You do for me, that I can’t even think of them all. Thank You! 6

You Make Us So Happy! Oh, Jesus, I like it so much when we talk together. I like it so much when You come and play with us. I know You’re right here with us whenever we play. I know You’re watching us, and it makes You happy when You hear us talk sweetly to one another, when You hear us laugh together. I know there’s a big smile on Your face whenever we’re smiling! I know it makes You so happy to see us happy with one another, kind to one another, helping each other. Jesus, You make us all so happy, and when we remember that You’re right here with us, it’s so much easier to make each other happy because we know You’re watching. We know You care for us and we know that You’re the One Who’s teaching us to play together and to have fun together. Oh, Jesus, it makes me so happy when You’re right here with us. Thank You for being here with us. Thank You that every time I turn around and wonder, “Where’s Jesus?” I hardly even have to wonder for a second because You’re right there.

Face to Face You know what’s a really neat thought? That one day I’m gonna see You, Jesus, and look You right in the eyes and see Your face! You’re gonna smile at me and reach out to hug me and hold me! It’s kinda awesome to imagine it now. But I don’t think I’ll be scared at all, because I love You, Jesus, and I want to meet You face to face, and smile at You and hug You and hold You. Someday I’ll see You the way You really are— all happy in Heaven!

You Are Everything to Me! I love You, I praise You, I thank You! Jesus, Your love fills me up. I want to please You every day, in every way. You are everything to me!

Thanks, Praise and Love! Thank You for all You do for me, Your gifts, Your care, Your answers to prayer. I praise You for Your wonderful Word, Your joy, Your peace, Your love so sweet. I love Your tender forgiveness, Your everlasting understanding. I thank You, praise You, and love You!

How Many Angels? Jesus, could I just see all the angels that take care of me? It’d be so neat if I could open my eyes, and there they all would be! With big, ivory-colored wings, golden hair and heavenly light all around! I’d love to reach out and touch them, and hear those heavenly sounds! How many beautiful angels have You sent to watch over me? Well, even if I never get to see them in this life, I know they’ll always be Watching and caring, praying and protecting. You sent each one from Above. Jesus, I just love how You send me Your angels! They’re a special sign of Your love!

You Love Everybody Everybody,, No Matter What! Jesus, thank You for helping me to understand that just because some people are “different” than me, doesn’t mean that they are any “different” to You. You love all kinds of people no matter what they’re like, or what we think might be odd about them. They may have a different color of skin or speak a different language. You love all sizes and types and kinds of people. It doesn’t matter to You. You love all kinds of children and all kinds of adults. You just love everybody, no matter what! I’d sure like to be like that, but I need Your love to help me love others the way You do. Thank You for showing me how You love everyone, and that if I show You more love, then Your love in me can help me love others more too. 9

You Don’t Have To, But Y ou Do You Jesus, You don’t have to love me so much. But, You do, and I’m sure glad! You don’t have to be so very good to me, to make me happy, to forgive the things I do that are bad. But, You do, and I thank YOU! I love You for loving me. Thank You for Your love, Your forgiveness and Your mercy! Jesus, You don’t have to answer my prayers, but I know You do, ’cause You care! You answer the big ones and the little ones, and lots of times You answer before I even ask. I don’t always see how You have answered them, but I know You are taking care of things once I pray. We pray every single day, but You’re never too busy to answer. That’s really amazing! Jesus, I praise You for answering my prayers. Jesus, You don’t have to give me such neat surprises, but You do! You know that it’s special to me how You make things so neat and so fun. I think about how You do something special for me every day, and that maybe I don’t even thank You enough for that. Jesus, I love how You always make things so special for us all. Thank You for making things special for me. YOU are special to me! 10

You Take Care of Everything! Wow, Lord, when I think of all the bad things that could have happened but didn’t happen, because You stopped them from happening, it’s awesome! When I get answers to my prayers and they’re extra great, I know it’s all Your greatness, Lord. I’m sure thankful when I think of how bad things could have turned out if You had not taken care of it like You did. Thank You, Jesus, for answering my prayers. You take care of everything. Declaration of Appreciation! Jesus, I like it a bunch when we have ice cream. I really appreciate a bright, sunny day. It’s super cool when I get surprises and presents, And really great when stomach aches go away. I like all the things You do, they’re neat! But then I forget to tell You!—Lord help me! This is a great time to thank You a lot For all the blessings I remember and those I forgot! Thanks for helping us when we get down And giving happy smiles in place of frowns. You come along and make each day so bright. So I thank You for that. You know, You’re ALL RIGHT! Man, there are so many things I appreciate That You do for me every day. I want to show You my thanks in return, To put into words what it means to me; I really want to learn To say: “I love You, I thank You, I can’t get along without You!” To sing and praise and shout about You, And make this declaration. Wings Are Watching Over Me

Thank You for Your angels who protect and watch over me. Thank You for their guidance, they care so tenderly. Thank You for the miracles of protection every day, How angels work behind the scenes to help in every way. Thank You that I will see my angels face to face When You call me Home some day to that Heavenly Place. But if I could see them here and now, I’d sure love that, and how! I appreciate my angels, and know they’re always there. ’Cause You, dear Jesus, gave them to me— My angels are everywhere. 15

You Are Everything W onderful! Wonderful! You’re my Friend, You’re my Shepherd. You’re my Peace, You’re my Helper. You’re my Joy, You’re my Father. You’re my Comfort, You’re my Guide. Without You I am nothing. You are everything wonderful!

Inline Praise on Roller Blades As I glide along on my roller blades, I think of You—Your love, and all the things that You’ve made. Thank You that I can look around and see the clouds in the sky, hear the birds singing, and take a deep breath of the good fresh air. There are so many ways to know You care. I love You, Jesus! You’re so good and kind.

You’re the Glue in My Life! This way? That way? Which way to go? Sometimes I’m mixed up, Sometimes I just don’t know! But You sort out the pieces, When I bring them all to You, You’re the Glue in my life, You keep me from strife, I just love everything that You do! I sit at Your feet, You explain things so sweet, And everything comes together. What seemed so heavy, and was too much to bear, Is now just as light as a feather! Thank You, Lord, for loving me When I am up or down or wandering around. I’m so glad for another chance, I feel I could dance. Jesus, I love You! It’s true!

Hang On to Me, Jesus! Jesus, thank You for always holding on to me. All my life long, every day, You’ve been right there, holding my hand, and I love You for that. It’s such a secure feeling to know You’re there. Sometimes I know I’ve let go. I’ve walked away and I’ve walked alone, and I’m sorry for that. But I love how You come after me and You take my hand and You keep holding on. You never let go. You never leave me. And You not only hold my hand, but You speak to me and You love me and guide me. I love You for that. Thank You for sticking close, Jesus. Thank You for reminding me not to fear, because You are always right there beside me, watching out for me. I love You. Keep holding on to me, Jesus. 17

Alone with Y ou You

I really like to sit alone where it’s quiet, and hear all the sounds around me. I think it’s neat that when I’m quiet like this, I can hear Your voice. You’re teaching me that Your voice calls to me above the crowd, calls me away from the norm, calls me to look upward. The things You say are never complicated. The things You say give me strength to do what You ask me to do. The things You say make me feel invigorated. When I’m alone like this, it’s like taking a long, long hike in the woods, or climbing up a beautiful mountain trail, or being alone out in a field and walking a long, long ways. I really like being alone with You, Jesus. Thanks for taking me places that I can’t go in cars or trains or buses. Thanks for taking me away in the spirit and showing me things that I can’t see in movies and that I can’t see in all the things around me. So many things can crowd out Your voice, and crowd out the beautiful pictures You give. Thank You for taking me away to realms of the spirit. Thank You, Jesus, it’s so exciting! 18

I’m So Blessed! When I’m talking with other people about You, Jesus, I see how blessed I am. So many others are lost and lonely and have nothing to live for. I am so thankful, Jesus, for all You have done for me. Help me to give Your message of love to everyone I can, so they can know You too.

You’re Always There for Me Jesus, You’ve always been there for me. You created me to love and serve You. Thank You for Your Word that gives me faith and strength, without which I could never know You so well, and appreciate and know Your heart. Thank You for hearing my every prayer, for always being there as my dear Heavenly Father. I praise You for what You have already done in my life and will yet do as I grow up for You. Thank You that I can serve You, and love and praise You.

You Are My Sun The sun is shining down upon me and it’s so warm. It feels so good, and that’s just like You, Jesus. I know You’re shining down upon me, like the sun. You make me feel warm and make me feel happy. The sun just makes me feel good, and that’s what it’s like when I think about You being like the sun on me. When You’re there, the clouds melt away. When the sun is shining, everything seems exciting! The sun makes everything so beautiful, and that’s just like You. Thank You for being my Sun. Thank You for doing all those beautiful things for me! I love You, Jesus. I love You for the warmth of Your light shining down on me. 19

(Jesus replies:) Hey! I’m here in the spirit, and very much alive, And every single minute I am by your side. When you sleep, eat or play, I wanna show you I care; Everything about you, I love and want to share. I’ll show you way-out things if you give Me your attention! Just know that you are My special invention.

Verse 2 Jesus, Your love just makes me wanna shout! Thank You for being so super far-out! In tune with my desires and secret wishes, Completely up to date with Your love and kisses, You’re grand and You’re more than the pictures in my mind— My wildest dreams, the greatest anyone can find! You’ve got the best humor, it’s for real, it’s not a rumor.

Verse 3 Jesus, You’re astounding, magical and dazzling, Magnificent, the best, incredible, fascinating! With You nothing ever turns out to be a bore. You are terrific, stupendous and so much much more. Cool, wild, groovy, neat and on the ball, Comfy cozy, warm and cuddly—boy, You’ve got it all!

God Loves to Laugh! I just love Your sense of humor! Thanks for being so real and even funny! What a wonderful happy thought, that You, the great and almighty God, can enjoy our having fun and even laugh with us. You give us so many reasons to laugh! You probably get a big kick out of all of us! I hope we make You laugh too! Thank You for creating us for Your pleasure and that You are pleased to see us happy! I love and appreciate having such fun and joy in serving You and loving You. Thank You that we can be free in Your Spirit to love, praise and enjoy You and each other every day! “A merry heart does good like a medicine,” and I thank You for that merriment of spirit and heart—the joy of the Lord, Your joy that gives us strength! We love and enjoy You! Thanks for being so fun! I’m glad that You make things fun for us!

You Make Things TTurn urn Out Right Jesus, I don’t always stop and thank You when things are going well. It seems like sometimes I only remember to do that when things turn bad.—Well, actually, not even right away when they turn bad, but often only after they’ve been bad and You’ve turned them good again. That’s not very nice of me, is it, Jesus? Please help me to have faith to praise You even when things don’t look so good, because I know that all things work together for good to them who love You. I want to thank You for showing me that. And, before I forget, I’m going to say with my whole heart that I appreciate all the good things You do for me, the ones I see and the ones I don’t even notice. You make so many things turn out right, and I just love You more than ever. Help me to tell You more and to love and praise You more often. Thanks a lot, Jesus. I really, really, really appreciate You!

You’re the Best! Jesus, You are stupendous! You’re awesome! You’re wonderful, marvelous, great, terrific, far-out, the greatest, the best! You’re so cool! You are quite some dude! Happy Rappy Praise Hi, Jesus! I love You! I don’t think You care what words I use to tell You “I love You,” and to say “Thank You!” I can use any words I want to and I know that You understand and You’ll like them. Is that okay, Jesus? I Could Be . . . I could be crippled, I could be sick, I could be injured. I could be lonely, I could be orphaned, I could be neglected. I could be homeless, I could be in jail, I could be starving. But Jesus, no matter what, I know Your wonderful love will care for me. If I am sick, if I am crippled, if I am hurt, if I am blind, if I am lonely, if I feel lost, I know You love me in a special way, and I can be even closer to You when I am in difficulty. I know that You care, and have a special and loving plan for me. You will use all the things that happen to me for my good. I know You see me and will come to help. And when it seems to be taking so long for something to happen, You will help me to trust and be brave to bear these things. With Your help, what now seems like heavy weights will someday turn into wings. I love and praise You for Your loving care for me!

As I breathe in that wonderful fresh air, As I see the splendor of colors everywhere, As I stop and ponder the events of the day, I marvel how You’ve kept me each step of my way. I stop to look at the sky, To look at the sunset, as the birds fly by. I think of the problems that You’ve resolved And that I’m so blessed because You have called. You Give Me FFaith, aith, You Give Me Love I really like it how You always smile when You look at me, even when I’ve been out of it. You’re always so encouraging. Even when I’m having a difficult time, You always show faith in me. Every time I look into Your face, I find something there to encourage me. Your face is so understanding. Your eyes look deep into mine, they give me so much love. They give me the faith that I can be everything that You want me to be, and I can do whatever You want me to do. They give me courage. Even when things don’t seem to go right, they’re telling me that “all things work together for good.” Thank You for always being so encouraging. I love You so much!

The Answer Guy It’s amazing the way You take care of me, Lord—the way Your strong arms reach down to help me with the difficult things that come up throughout the day. There are so many times that it just doesn’t register in my brain to talk to You about what I’m going through, and to bring my troubles to You and let You work them out. I guess I just kind of get so swept along with life and living and into everything that’s happening, that I tend to try and “row my own boat.” But, Jesus, I know You want to be close to me. You’re the Answer Guy with everything that I need. You have the answer to every question, the solution to every problem. You have the love and understanding I need so that I can get along with others. It’s a change for me, and takes some effort to stop and pray, and just talk with You about different things, but please help me to make the effort to put on the brakes and take a little time out to talk to You! I know I can’t make it without You. You’re the ignition spark that gets my motor running, and the gas that keeps my truck going. You give me the power to roll along wherever You want me to go. You’ve got it, Lord, and lots of it, and I want it! So tank me up! Let’s go! 30

A TTrue rue FFriend riend You know, I really like You a lot! You’re such a good Friend. Friends are very important to me, especially close friends—friends who like me and love me even though they know me very, very well. I don’t feel like I have to be perfect to keep them as friends. They stick with me and they still like me and consider me their friend, even when I make mistakes. And You’re like that to me. Of course, You’re really special in a unique way, because You’re always there. I never feel completely alone, because I know You’re there. I think it’s really neat to have Someone so special like You. Thank You! I’m sorry I don’t show You more appreciation and tell You, and talk to You as much as I should. I know it’s important for friends to talk, and that’s what I like. Real friendship is when you can share your heart and your feelings and you feel united and close to someone. I like that. I like being able to tell You anything, knowing that You understand me, and You love me, and You like me just as I am. That’s a true friend! Thank You for being my true Friend.

Jesus, I Need Y ou You Jesus I need You. I need to come to You because You’re the One Who understands. I need to come to You and be quiet with You and be alone with You. Thank You that I can cuddle up in Your arms. I can lay my head on Your strong shoulders and Your arms wrap about me. I nestle my head on Your breast. Thank You that You look down on my face with so much understanding. Thank You that I can trust Your love and Your care for me. Thank You for listening to me. Thank You for hearing my heartcry and helping me to find peace and reassurance in Your arms.

The Crystal Stream of Y our Love Your Your love is like a river, Jesus, that comes down from a mountain. Like a beautiful clear, crystal stream, it just keeps flowing and flowing and flowing. It never stops. It’s beautiful and it shines in the sunlight. I can always go and drink from it. I can sit beside it and enjoy the beautiful sounds. I can look down to its rocky bottom and see beautiful colors there, beautiful shapes, and I feel at peace. Your love is just like that river, a beautiful crystal stream. I sit at peace when I sit beside Your love. Thank You for teaching me how rich and wonderful Your love is. Always flowing from the mountain, never ending, always a joy and a pleasure, and I can go there whenever I want to. Thank You, Jesus.

Thanks for Being There You know, Jesus, it really is exciting to be able to get to know You like this. I didn’t think I could ever have a friend as close as You. I love to laugh with You. Getting to know You and getting to hear Your voice, the way You speak to me, just the way You talk, is really fun. It’s exciting! It’s so neat the way You seem to understand everything I have to say. Everything I tell You, You understand it. I’m not afraid to tell You anything, and that’s super neat. It’s really quite fun! Thanks for listening to me, thanks for being there for me and thanks for the fun walk, too, and thanks for making me laugh. I really have fun with You. 32

Quiet Moments

I love to take a moment, And look into Your face, I love to take a moment While I behold Your grace. Such sweet, quiet moments Help me walk into Your House, Where I sometimes enter tiptoe, As quiet as a mouse. How lovely, Jesus, on Your throne You rise to greet me There. Your arms enfold, while I sit still With me Your love You share. My ears, my mouth, my heart, my hands You fill to overflowing, You give me love and it is grand; Such peace you are bestowing. And when I close my eyes And think on You so fair,

I think of Your picture in my book Or on the wall up there. I look upon Your face, And think of all You do, You help me play, You help me sleep, You help me all day through. Quiet moments, yes I need To have them every day. To take the time to love You so, When I work and when I play. Jesus, You make me happy. Jesus, You make me sing, Jesus, You give me laughter, You give me everything! So, I thank You, my dear Jesus, As I bow my head in prayer, You hear my words, You know my heart, And You are always there. 33

Not Alone I really like to read the stories that You’ve told, Jesus. I like to hear all the things You’ve had to say, from the very beginning up until now. I like the miracles, I like the battles, I like the poems, I like the praises. I like everything that’s written in Your Word that tells me about Heaven, and that tells me how to love You, and gives me examples of those who have loved You, have given their lives for You and have fought for You. I love to read those stories, Jesus, because it helps me to feel much more a part of You. When I hear those stories, then I know that’s what You want me to do too. It helps me not to feel so alone when I know that so many other people have lived for You just like I want to. So thank You for all those stories and all the wonderful people who’ve gone before me. Thank You for others who are alive now, who testify of everything that You’ve done. Thank You for everything they tell me: that You answer their prayers, help them through their battles, heal them when they’re sick. You give them a vision and goal, You teach them how to love You and love others and serve You and win the lost. Thank You for all that You’ve given me to teach me how to love You and serve You too. It’s all so exciting! Thank You Jesus. 34
