current political situation in Venezuela. Clad in flags and hoisting protest signs denouncing Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro’s government, the participants organized a demonstration in which they spelled out an SOS distress

signal in support of the individuals currently experiencing a drawnout social conflict in Venezuela. This demonstration, which was organized on the same day in several other cities around the world with the same purpose, served as a

he second annual Rebel Run, sponsored by Grace Bible Church’s Youth Impact ministry, kicked off at 10 a.m. Saturday with the 8K race, followed by the 5K race at 10:30 a.m. The Rebel Run, complete with water slides, obstacle courses, and hill climbing, was organized by Youth Impact volunteers. Erin Christian, Youth Impact coordi-

nator and Class of 2011, said some of the volunteers even ran in the race. “We have about 120 college volunteers who run a program for students in Bryan-College Station ages 5-18,” Christian said. “We wanted to mentor them and connect with them and inspire them to be Christ-like leaders in our community.” See Rebel Run on page 5

riday evening it was announced that Kyle Kelly was elected Texas A&M University’s student body president for the 2014–2015 academic year. With 6,067 votes, Kelly amassed over 60 percent of the total votes cast for all four candidates. “It’s an out of body experience,” Kelly said. “I’m so thankful, probably more than anything, for the team behind me.” 5 for Yell won all five yell leader positions for 2014-2015.
