The Riverside Business Improvement Area is inviting wine lovers to make their way to the neighbourhood April 13 to 19 for Riverside WineFest. A week-long celebration of local food, wine and shops, Riverside WineFest is set to feature wine from more than 10 award-winning wineries from Prince Edward County and Niagara Region. The festivities will include wine tastings and wine-related dinners and activities at participating retailers as well as a wine expo at the Ralph Thornton Centre, 765 Queen St. E., Saturday, April 18 from 3 to 5 p.m. Ian Resdin of Table 17 and Giancarlo Catalano of Il Ponte are co-hosting Riverside WineFest alongside Chef Scott Savoie of the Culinary Adventure Co. The long-term goal is for Riverside to host a week-long festival of wine in February with a wine expo and a week of tastings, wine-makers’ dinners and other events at local restaurants and stores.
