A new Gerrard Street spa service that, according to two online listings, offers “erotic massages” and advertises itself as “a beautiful new adult massage parlour located in the Beaches” has attracted the attention of municipal bylaw officers. The Mystic Spa, on Gerrard Street between Coxwell and Greenwood Avenues, opened its doors just last weekend, but according to Municipal Licencing and Standards Manager John DeCourcy, it does not have a license to operate either as a holistic health centre or a body rub parlor. “We checked last night (Monday) to see if they’ve been issued a license and they have not been,” DeCourcy said.
