father’s things. As one might imagine, Jack Layton, the leader of the federal NDP party who died in August 2011, had accumulated quite a number of ties – nearly 300 of

them, Layton said. “There were ones that were beautiful and ones he wore during debates or with some sentimental value,” Layton said. “And then there were ones
