Christmas parade hits Kingston Road Sunday Hamper’s Santa Claus Parade, presented by Community Centre 55 (CC55) and the Kingston Road Village’s Business Association, takes place at 1 p.m. Sunday. The route starts at Victoria Park Avenue, heads west along Kingston Road, continues north on Walter Street and Kimberley Avenue, before heading west on Swanwick Avenue and ending at CC55. Bring a toonie in support of CC55’s Share a Christmas program. There is no parking along the parade route.

A colourfully decorated pillowcase can bring more than comfort to your home this holiday season. It can also bring comfort to the homes of 20 others. Local mom, artist and graphic designer Helen Billet is teaming up with her daughter Audrey, 8, and son Scott, 6, in The Pillow Project to raise money for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan, which struck the Philippines Nov. 8. The family is donating the profits from the sales of Helen’s original pillowcases to World Vision until Dec. 6. They have an end goal of $1,000, which the government will match and
