Upper Beach resident Jason Abelson just wants his fouryear-old daughter, Anjali, and seven-year-old son, Max, to be able to cross Gerrard Street East at Scarborough Road without risking their lives. “That corner is a death trap. It’s a disaster,” said the five-year area resident. “Every morning, we use the crosswalk and it’s 50-50 whether somebody’s going to stop or go barreling through.” Abelson, who called that intersection an “accident waiting to happen”, decided to be proactive and in recent weeks has put together a petition calling on Toronto police to
