Heritage plaque for Margaret Frazer House DANIELA PITEO bsrm@insidetoronto.com The house at 301 Broadview Ave. has been standing for 107 years; it has been a heritage property for four years, and recently the house finally
received its plaque. The Riverdale Historical Society, with the City of Toronto’s Heritage Preservation Board, unveiled the Cleland House historical designation plaque in a small ceremony Saturday. Heritage Toronto board
member Andrew Himel presented the plaque at the ceremony. “Events like this are important for Heritage Toronto,” Himel said. “We’re a charitable agency of the City of Toronto that works to promote a greater

Kingston Road neighbourhood residents have had enough with being disconnected and are taking back control of their community. A new residents’ association had its inaugural meeting Monday in response to the ongoing construction across Kingston Road. Fourteen members of the association met at Adam Beck Community Centre to discuss things ranging from what the area should be named, to the planned development of a YMCA in the neighbourhood. “I think what’s really exciting is the rejuvenation of the neighbourhood after the construction and just strengthening an already phenomenally strong community,” said Erin Booth, a member of the community. The round table discussion included what the boundaries of the neighbourhood should be, as well as what each member has to offer – whether it’s flyer design or becoming a street captain to ensure those community members without computers can still get involved in community discussion. “I think everyone at the table has something of significance >>>ASSOCIATION, page 14
