Childeric Saddles Little Downham Horse Trials 6th - 7th August 2022

WELCOME Welcome to Little Downham Horse Trials in this our 21st anniversary year. I wish to THANK YOU sincerely for making your entry to this fixture despite the difficult times affecting everyone. We came through the Covid-19 period well, and now we must traverse the troubled financial situation as well as the persistent dry weather that is having a detrimental effect on all equestrian sports at present. Sadly we had to abandon our grassroots day at our June event following 2" of rain in the early hours of the morning. The Little Downham ground can take a lot of things, however that was one step too far with standing water and the water jumps being double the legal depth. We were fortunate enough to have secured our own abandonment insurance, with Shearwater, and issued full refunds to all those entered. We hope that this gives you confidence to enter Little Downham in future events. To prepare for this event we have utilised the Shockwave Machine, a specialist piece of equipment used in the sports industry that de-compacts the ground and helps to rejuvenate it. In addition to this, we have also irrigated for over a week and we hope that you will notice the significant work that has gone into the ground. I would like to extend my thanks to the vast number of volunteers who come together to support these events, without whom we simply wouldn't be able to run the events. Tina Ure - Event Organiser
