Teachers
Games Make learning fun! Studying does not have to be staring at a page for twenty minutes. Make it a game. Make a memory game with flashcards or draw something that helps you remember the material. Maybe go on the website http://www. braineos.com/
Don’t forget about the teachers! Tak e in C note The teachers are the ones who give las s the exams. It might be a good idea s to ask a teacher about the exams. Mrs. Wesson said, “A lot of it comes down to practice, reviewing in small increments, taking breaks for mental down time, and getting rest.”
Friends
Don’t Cram Craming doesn’t help! Research has shown that students craming for a huge test do worse than what they would have if they had studied. So DO NOT CRAM for that math exam, you will only do worse...
Make a study schedule!
Be positiv e. Stay focu sed!
Ask ns tio s e Qu

Study with your friends! Friends are a great help when studying for exams. You can test eachother on the marerial while laughing about the latest movie you saw.

“When I travel to Germany I am most looking forward to experiencing the different culture and spending time with my german exchange student. I am staying with Lilli, she stayed with me last year when they came to Wisconsin, so it will be cool to see how she lives in Germany. I also think all the food sounds really gross, so I don’t know what I’ll eat out there. I have been waiting since eight grade for this summer! I am also looking forward to the salt mines and sliding down the slides underground.”

“Studying art in school is fun, but studying art in France and Spain is way cooler! I can’t wait to see the Eiffle Tower, I’ve seen it in pictures, but to see it in person will be amazing! We will be meeting up with Shorewood High School so that will be nice to experience it with a different school. We will be changing hotels a lot, but that’s okay because we will be in Europe. I have been waiting since last year when we had our first meeting. I will be taking so many pictures, my camera will probably overload.”

“I’m very excited seeing all the different places, being with the exchange students and seeing how their school works. I have been waiting since Freshmen year to go on this trip, it was cancelled, but then Frau Frey came and promised she would take us. I really can’t wait to go to Munich and go down the river and see all the different castles. I am staying with Lucia and her family and they said they are excited to have us. I have talked to her through sending letters, facebook and email. I can’t

“Eating french macaroons will be the best part, I have had macaroons, but to eat them in France will be even better. I am excited to experience the different culture and see how they live. It has always been my dream to travel to Paris and just Europe in general. I have been waiting two years for this trip, and I have had a countdown of 500 days, and it’s now 28. I am going to buy many french macaroons, nice chocolates, and anything I know I can’t get back home. It will be my first time traveling alone out of the country, and I will get to experience it with friends. I am really excited to take pictures with my polaroid camera.”

“When I go to Germany I can’t wait to stay with my host family and experience what it’s like to live in Germany. I am staying with Miranda, who’s 17 and in the same grade as me. I’ve talked to her over facebook and I recently sent her family a letter. I have been waiting a year to go on this trip and we have a countdown in our classroom. We are going to the salt mines underground, which will be cool because there are slides underground that we get to slide down. I am super excited!”

“It is my first time going out of the country, and I am really excited to go to Europe. Since it is my first time going out of the country, it was my first time getting a passport. I love the preparation, like getting ready to go on this wonderful trip. I am not going to buy a lot because you have to pay customs. I’ll probably buy clothes, maybe some chocolates. I will most likely gain ten pounds on this trip because I am going to try so many different types of food. In Spain we are seeing Flaminco dancers, so that will be pretty cool and we’re going to an Art Museum in France. I have been waiting for a year and a half and its almost here!”

The Hawks started off strong going 5-1 in their first six games of the season. Coach Brian Durst said, “We have eight returning seniors and a solid core of juniors. There is high expectations for this team and what they are capable of. Our depth this season will be strong- we have 14 players on the varsity roster who have already been in the starting lineup this early in the season.” Durst is optimistic about this season, saying, “If we score runs and make plays consistently, we should be competing for a top spot in the conference.”
