BV - the monthly digital magazine from the heart of Dorset

The BV – the Blackmore Vale magazine – is the quality indie monthly from North Dorset. A highly visual and intelligent magazine, it's never the free paper you pick up from the floor of the petrol station; instead, the BV is the half hour read you spend a weekend coffee with. The BV combines quality local news reporting on the bigger issues suited to a 110-page monthly, alongside unstinting championing of local businesses and communities, with the best writers to inform and entertain through their knowledge of the area and its communities. Among our invited local columnists are one of the top five wine merchants in the UK, the CEO of Dorset Chamber, a member of the Guild of Food Writers committee, a world-renowned Thoroughbred horse breeder and a popular author with encyclopaedic knowledge of local history. Nationally-important artists feature in the art column, locally-connected celebrities are happy to answer ’19 random questions’ and local events are attended and reported on. We are proud to be staunch supporters of the LGBTQ+ community, champions of local mental health charities, and we provide space for a disabled student of a special needs school to write a monthly column.
