LETTER FROM ROSEANNE T his year especially, I have been reminded many times and in many ways how important it is to embrace all of the gifts our lives have to offer. The demands of our everyday obligations can pull our focus away from these blessings and it becomes easy to miss the good stuff. The HOLIDAY SEASON is always a great opportunity to reflect on our lives and loved ones and to create space in our busyness for some connectedness and celebration. As I look forward to the holidays the word “WONDROUS” keeps popping into my mind. I looked it up and for something to be “WONDROUS” it must be “extraordinary”. So it is the EXTRA-ORDINARY experience and offerings that The Body Serene will create for our community during this special time! From our beautiful new decorations to our amazing seasonal specials we are committed to bring wonder to those wonderful folks who come to our spa! We have this year’s tissue and bags beautified for gift cards and we are set with unique and value oriented gifts for everyone! To celebrate our valued guests we will be having fun in December creating NEW THANK YOU GIFTS to give away each week leading to the 25th! It is our way of showing the gratitude to our community for their continued support of our small but mighty business! TEAM SPOTLIGHT Gina Natale Gina joined our team 13 years ago as a guest services member until she transitioned to becoming our Nail Team Lead 7 years ago! Gina brings her considerable talent and love of people to everything she does here at The Body Serene! Just recently, she helped navigate through the revamping of our pedicure area and she has done a terrific job of updating our equipment and offerings to our Nail department! When she isn’t creating lovely nails at the spa Gina, her handsome husband and beautiful daughters are an active part of their community in Kulpsville. Gina loves to shop, go to her daughter’s soccer games, volunteer at school and most of all she loves to talk! When she is at the spa she loves to “meet new people and connect to people from all different walks of life!” At the Body Serene, Gina feels “it’s like home. It feels comfortable and inviting and it’s always fun to be with everybody.” We are so happy to have Gina on our team for all of these years!
Philecia Masi Philecia joined our team in 2007 and has been making our customers feel great ever since! In addition to being an extremely talented massage therapist, Philecia is studying to become an RN and is scheduled to graduate for Montgomery County Community College this December!

Besides, it’s fun and exciting!” She’s actually combined her two loves and has gone right to an amusement park after her marathons! As for massage therapy Philecia states, “I like helping people relax and to help take some pain away. I am amazed how many people walk around in pain.” T The Body Serene she feels that the team feels like “one big family” and “everyone takes the time to really get to know you.” “Of course the customers are wonderful and it is so nice that they come in over and over again.” We know that Philecia is part of why our customers keep coming back and we are so pleased that she is part of our family! Questions & ANSWERS WITH BARBARA STRATTON, MIRA SALON Holiday parties allow you to venture out of the box and try something new. Barbara Stratton, owner of Mira Salon, answers questions on how to create a new look this holiday season, and scheduling time during your busy schedule. Q: I have several holiday parties to attend and want my hair to look different, what is trending for the holidays? A: W ell plain, everyday hair just won’t do! A little curl or some light backcombing will spruce things up. Don’t forget to accesorize ! You can find some nice touches that are not too over the top, unless that’s your style. Q: I am really challenged with styling my own hair and I want that finished look, how do I get that? A: S chedule an appointment at your Salon for a shampoo and style the day of your party. Having a professional style your hair that day will not only relax you but give you the polished look you want to see when you look back on photos your family and friends have taken, and posted. Q: I don’t want to look like I am going to the prom, what do I ask for when I am in the salon? A: H ave good communication with your stylist. Let them know about the event and what you are wearing. A temporary extension is always fun and you are not committed to it. Bling strands are fine tied in tinsel and fun for a party or wedding. Hair ties, pony or headband are big this season too. In fabric or sparkle, they won’t hurt your hair or your head. Hair gems are flat ironed on to your hair and will be a nice surprise. Don’t forget the shimmer, very subtle but very effective. Q: What if I have a more casual gathering? A: Y ou still want to look special for those occasions, remember photos are forever! An accent braid or twist or knot will not be too much but will definitely be a nice touch. Q: What if I can’t get to the salon? A: A sk your stylist on your next visit to teach you how to do a few things you can easily do yourself. We are always teaching our guests how to make their hair look great on a daily basis, In the words of the great Vidal Sassoon, “ If you look good, we look good” . There is always YouTube and pintrest for some cool ideas. Don’t be afraid to play! Experiment when you are at home when you are not under pressure to look fabulous at that minute. So this holiday season step out of the box and try something new and unexpected! You may like the reaction you get and surprise some people along the way.
