Stephanie Moses was introduced to us by our Andrew as he left for the west coast and we are so pleased to have her join our Nail Team!

Stephanie began working in the beauty industry twelve years ago and in addition to being a nail technician she is a licensed esthetician and hair stylist! She fell in love with makeup and hair as a child and started studying her craft while still in high school.

Stephanie now lives in Green Lane with her two adorable children ages 9 and 4. In her spare time she loves to play with her kids in the park and she loves to watch old movies!

When asked what she likes about her work she says “I love to interact with people and I love to give pedicures!” She also says she loves the atmosphere and her teammates at Body Serene.

We love having her sweet smile and awesome talent on our team!

Questions & ANSWERS WITH BARBARA STRATTON, MIRA SALON Q: W hat is trending this spring?

A: After a dreary winter, it is so nice to see a lot of color, bright happy color. We are seeing color blocking not only in clothing but also in hair color. Strategically placed bold color is in this spring, a few low or hi lights placed in the right places to accent your new spring cut will make a real statement.

Q: Should you go lighter with your haircolor when the weather gets warmer?

A: Not necessarily lighter, work off your color palate. What colors are in your wardrobe?

You will surely change your makeup so you will want to follow through with hair color that will compliment your total look.

Q: I want to change my cut but I am stuck in a rut.

A: We are seeing a lot of Audrey Hepburn inspired short cuts right now. This could be a fresh change for the season. Consult with your stylist to be sure this is the right move for your hair and face shape. The stylists at Mira just attended a short hair cutting class and we saw some amazing techniques. We would love to explore a bold change for you. Stop in!

Q: I want to have some fun with my hair.

A: Try going retro! It is a really fun trend right now and you don’t have to commit to a cut or color you are not sure of. The “Rosie the Riveter “ look is super cute!

Q: I am not sure to get some of the looks that I want to try.

A: We at Mira are happy to teach you how to achieve the looks you see on the red carpet or on your favorite shows. Braids, million dollar waves, messy buns, retro are all the things you can check out on sites like Pinterest. Remember, to maintain the integrity of your hair, let your stylist guide you.

Q: My hair gets big and frizzy with the upcoming heat and humidity.

A: First things first! Condition is the key to great looking hair and great looking hair is the key to looking great! Not just condition but deep conditioning treatments on a regular basis. At home professional products, the right one for you, you need guidance finding out what it is your hair needs. If you have curl, you need to take a totally different approach to your cut, condition and styling. We are certified in the Ouidad method of cutting and styling. We are also a certified retailer of Ouidad products.

Q: M y color fades in the sun.

A: Like your skin, your hair needs sunscreen! There are several great sun protect products, from leave in conditioner to hair spray to styling products.

Protect your investment from the damaging effects of the sun. Sunroofs, convertibles, or taking a walk, you are exposing your hair.

Q: W here’s the shine?

A: As mentioned earlier, condition and using good quality products are essential. Healthy life choices will make all the difference.

A good diet, enough protein, drink lots of water, vitamins and try to reduce stress. Not only will your hair improve but so will your skin and your outlook on life.

Make a pact with yourself. Don’t leave the house without finishing your hair. You will never hide from people and you will feel great about your appearance all the time. We are happy to teach you how to get the results we get in the salon. Sometimes it is just a matter of using the right brush or holding it differently.
