CASERMA GARIBALDI _ VIA FORIA We are in Via Foria, near Garibaldi barracks, the object is inserted as a parasite, incorporating the soda fountain and the existing structures (such as poles) using them as a base for tables and benches. Like all other objects arranged in other places in the city, the concept of the materiality of the castle defined by brick tuff and appeals in mortar, which is translated into a light modular structure, where the horizontal courses are fixed, whereas the panels that make up the base for seating and supporting surfaces have variable dimensions and can jump just as happens for the bricks in the brickwork. The need that has been identified in Via Foria is that of a resting place to sit and drink what is being served from the kiosk, but at the same time be an information point, which allows you to get people to visit the castle.
VIA FORIA Urban aggression understood as recovery of something that at present can no longer perform its original function, nor any other type of function; The street furniture in question is a bench in Via Foria vandalized and pivata of wooden planks, to which is assigned the new role of "urban island", a small meeting place that comes around what remains of the pre-existence; This concept for the modularity and simplicity of the structure can be applied to many other examples and can, therefore, help you recover things and at the same time carry out the exhibition set up feature attracting the attention of those who use it.
