MAY I BRING GUESTS TO THE CLUB?

Absolutely! We are always happy to welcome your friends and family to our Club. However, we kindly ask that in accordance with the House Rules, all guests are accompanied by a Member or are participating in a Member-sponsored activity in the fitness, swim, tennis or youth areas of the Club. Guest fees shall be charged to the Member’s account for the use of the Club’s aquatics, tennis and fitness facilities. Guest fees do not apply for dining-only guest visits.

All Members and guests are required to sign-in at the Security Desk. Extended & pre-arranged guest visits can be organized by contacting our Membership Department at membership@thebriarclub.com or (713) 622-3667 ext. 2159.

HOW DO MY GUESTS GAIN ACCESS TO THE PARKING GARAGE?

Guests are free to park in our parking garage. Guests are asked to drive through the guest entry lane and tell the guard on duty what brings them to the Club. Guests will still be required to check in at the pool security desk.

MAY I DROP-OFF MY CHILDREN?

Per Briar Club House Rules, no children or guest of Members under the age of 12 years shall access or remain at the Club if unaccompanied by a parent or other adult, unless registered in a specific camp or Briar Fun Day.

HOUSEHOLD EMPLOYEES/NANNIES

Household employees are permitted access to the Club for the sole purpose of accompanying minor children of a member. Guest fees shall be charged, as appropriate, in the event any such household employee uses Club swim, tennis or fitness facilities. Household employees must be added to your membership account and must have a photo on file before they can enter the Club. To add a household employee to your account, please contact our Membership Department at membership@thebriarclub.com or (713) 622-3667 ext. 2159.

POOL SAFETY & GUARDIAN RESPONSIBILITY

• Careful and considerate behavior is asked of all Members and their guests.

• Hanging, sitting, or jumping off pool ropes is not permitted.

• Kickboards are reserved for Lap Pool use only.

• Pool toys such as inner tubes, “noodles”, large floats, water guns and tennis balls are not permitted in the pools and may be removed by the lifeguards at their discretion.

• Infants and toddlers must wear waterproof and/ or swim diapers in all Club pools. Diapers must be changed every hour.

• Parents and guardians must accompany and supervise all children 10 and under anytime they are in a pool area.

• All children under the age of 5 must be accompanied and supervised at arm’s length by a responsible adult in the Family Pool.

• Only children 4 & up may use the pool slide.

• Children must be 7 years old or 48 inches tall to use the High Dive.

• No flips or somersaults are allowed from the 3-meter diving board.

• Children must be 5 years old to use the low dive.

• Lifeguards do not monitor the Baby Pool. Only children 5 years and under may use the Baby Pool and only when accompanied by a parent/ guardian.

Locker Rentals

The Briar Club offers long-term locker rentals in both the Family and Fitness Locker Rooms. Please contact Jon Diller at poolmanager@thebriarclub.com or (713) 622-3667 ext. 2126 for information.

Day lockers are available for Members and guests for $2 per day. Please see the security desk for day locker rentals.

Lap Pool Swimming

Adults over the age of 18 are permitted to swim in the Competition Lap Pool & Adult Lap Pool during any normal Club operating hours. Children of members who (a) are at least 10 years of age, (b) are actively swimming laps in the Competition Lap Pool, and (c) are supervised by an adult either from the pool deck or next to the child in the water may also use the Competition Lap Pool during normal Club operating hours. We kindly ask that recreational swimming is reserved for the Family Resort Pool, unless otherwise directed by Club management.

Teen Swim Team Coach Meetings

Teen Alumni of Barracuda Swim Team

Calling all past Barracuda swimmers! We’re looking for coaches to help us lead the Barracudas to victory for another year. Attend one of our informational meetings to learn more about becoming a swim team coach.

Monday, March 27 at 7:00 pm

American Red Cross Lifeguard Class

Ages 15 & Up | $325 per person

Learn life-saving skills and CPR/AED/First Aid in this blended-learning lifeguarding course by the American Red Cross. Students must be available for all hours of the inclass session to complete the course. Lunch and snacks are provided. Non-members may attend for $375 per person. Space is limited.

JUNIOR LIFEGUARD PROGRAM

Ages 7-14 | $50 per person, per session

The Junior Lifeguard Program will teach children and teens between the ages of 7-14 CPR & First Aid, how to detect and assist distressed swimming victims, and how to make rescues.
