LIONS CLUB
TH
Anniversary
WHAT IS A LION? A Lion is an everyday type person that are built with an extraordinary heart. Lions come from any part of the social structure, can have any type of job {or even be retired}, hail from the city, town or country, believe in any creed, embrace multiculturalism and most of all, Lions will be people who really care about the community. They are invested in the community’s welfare, its health standards and its progress. They acknowledge the imperfections of the community, but don’t depend on the government to solve all the problems. Instead Lions believe that citizens including themselves, should join

together to initiate and carry out projects which will make the community a better place to live in. Not just their immediate community, but all less fortunate should be helped too. Lions accept that as free citizens, they have an obligation to give of their time, labour and means to help those less fortunate and do it willingly. Lionism isn’t only for men. There are various types such as, all men clubs, all ladies and mixed clubs. There are also Leo clubs for young people and Lioness clubs for service-minded women who do not wish to join a Lions club. All clubs are open to people interested in serving others.
What an individual can do is limited, but joined together and motivated, people can move mountains. The combined efforts available from a Lions Club is greater than the energy of any individuals. Within the club many skills are available, additional types of assistance can be tapped into, wider needs can become known, larger projects tackled, and there is continuity year after year. Almost every community has a Lions Club and memberships are always welcome to those who care to join its members in service.
