CRISTINA & HARRIS by Blumenthal Photography
To celebrate their seventh anniversary together Harris planned a romantic dinner at Aria, Circular Quay. A walk along the Opera House followed which was the perfect location for Harris to pop the question. “He was his normal self, no nerves at all, so I had absolutely no idea he was about to do anything of the sort. It was just perfect, and the ring was just breathtaking” said Cristina. From the beginning they were set on a vintage theme consisting of dusty pink, ivory and hints of glitter, which matched beautifully with the bridesmaids dresses. Cristina looked stunning in a timeless gown created by well-known Australian designer Steven Khalil, fea-

turing intricate beading, ruffles and full-length sleeves. They were married at St Gerasimos Greek Orthodox Church and celebrated at Curzon Hall with their 320 guests. The reception was decorated with floral arrangements, candelabra and hanging tea lights. “A vintage touch I added to the day was having framed photos of both our parents and grandparents on their wedding days” said Cristina. When asked about advice for other Brides, Cristina said, “Stay calm and remember to enjoy the journey, and not worry about the small things. It’s your time, make it count.”

ANASTASIA & LAZAROS by Image Couture Photography
Anastasia set off on an overseas holiday to Greece where she was lucky enough to meet Lazaros. After moving into their home together Lazaros caught Anastasia by surprise and proposed. The wedding day arrived and one of the highlights for Anastasia was walking down the aisle. She wore a fishtail gown while her bridesmaids wore soft pink dresses each with a unique bodice design. Lazaros also stood out in his white and black suit jacket and

bowtie. Curzon Hall was the perfect venue for the couple, reflecting their wedding theme of classic elegance. The incredible cake was highlighted by an opulent flower wall attached to the bridal table. Another standout moment for Anastasia was during the reception where they watched their Greek wedding ceremony video for the first time.

LINDA & DANTE by Wedding Soul Story
A night out with friends led to Dante and Linda meeting. After dating for eight years, Dante proposed. With a holiday to Hamilton Island planned Dante wanted to go out to dinner the night before leaving. They had been to a BBQ the week before and Linda had left her shoes there and he knew that she wanted to get them before going on their holiday. It was the perfect cover, although Linda didn’t really want to get them at that time but Dante persisted and they ended up going. Dante insisted that he would quickly run in and get the shoes while Linda waited in the car. Pretending he couldn’t find the shoes he lured Linda inside “I turn the corner and he had a marry

me sign in the background and he was on one knee. I was very surprised. We enjoyed the moment opened champagne and called loved ones and he took me to our first date back in 2006 to Italian forum in Leichhardt.” They were married at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Church in Randick. “Favourite moment was walking down the aisle in church to a string quartet who played Lana del Ray - young and beautiful to see Dante all teary. It was a surreal moment.” said Linda. The couple celebrated with a reception at Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf, their theme consisting of white with a touch of gold.

KRISTINA & CHRISTIAN by D’Amico Photography Kristina and Christian met while holidaying on a P&O cruise. After bumping into one another several times they exchanged numbers and continued to speak after the trip. “So cliché, but it was love at first sight” said Kristina. Christian proposed during the week and definitely caught Kristina by surprise. After having dinner at a restaurant together, Christian insisted on going for a walk, despite the cold and overcast weather Kristina hesitantly agreed. “As we got towards the water, he somehow pulled the ring out of his pocket and proposed to me. I was over the moon, screaming and crying.”
“Christian looked at me with so much emotion that I fell in love with him even more” They were blessed with a perfect day and were married at Holy Name of Mary in Hunters Hill. “The ceremony was beautiful; it was so exciting standing at the altar in front of our family and friends to exchange our vows. Christian looked at me with so much emotion that I fell in love with him even more (I didn’t even know that was possible).” A reception at Oatlands House followed, featuring lots of white, gold, latte and champagne with a touch of purple added to the centrepieces. “Our wedding day was absolutely incredible... It was everything I ever dreamed of and so much more.”

JANE & SEAN by Wilson Sarkis Photograohy
Jane met Sean through a mutual friend while she was in highschool. It wasn’t long before they had become really good friends and started dating. “Sean proposed to me in Vegas. We were at Tao nightclub dancing and out of nowhere he pulled out a ring and asked me to marry him, it took me about four full minutes to realise what was going on, it was a complete surprise to me and our friends.” said Jane. Although Jane and Sean didn’t have a specific wedding theme
40
in mind they knew they wanted an abundance of flowers. “Our wedding included tons and tons of pastel flowers and beautiful rosebud tree centrepieces.” Jane’s favourite moment from their day was “our first look, when I saw Sean for the first time. It was so surreal seeing my soon to be husband and knowing it was our day, such an emotional and exciting moment.”

NATALIE & GEORGE by Xtraordinary Photos & Video
George surprised Natalie by proposing on his birthday. “He took me to a beach in Newport and sat me down on the sand and began talking and before I knew it he had pulled out a beautiful ring and had asked me to marry him. He had a private picnic set up behind us on the sand with roses, champagne, chocolates and cakes. It was so romantic and magical, definitely a day I will never forget. To finish off the day they had planned an engagement party at my house with all of our family and friends and surprised me with this as well.”
44
said Natalie. They decided on an elegant, classy and timeless theme choosing Le Montage as their reception venue. With Natalie’s family owning a floristry business, she was able to focus on the flowers. “My favourite moment would have to be walking into St Mary’s Cathedral and seeing all our friends and family and my future husband standing there waiting for me. He had the biggest smile on his face and was wiping away his tears of happiness as I walked down the aisle.”

MARIE & THEODORE by Eclipse Studios Photography Marie and Theodore met at a mutual friends birthday party. It wasn’t long before the couple became inseparable with close friendship connections, living just five minutes from one another and even valuing the same things in life. This led to an exciting proposal three and a half years later. Theodore was able to surprise Marie convincing her they had a friends pre-gathering at a hotel suite. Relaxing music was playing and the room was decorated with tea lights, rose petals and Theodore even had a chilled bottle of rosé and a bowl of Maltesers – Marie’s favourites. Marie went to grab a handful of chocolates, scraping the ring box that Theodore had hidden. “I grabbed it in excitement and I hadn’t even opened it, I just started to cry.” said Marie. They planned a timeless, elegant wedding incorporating nude, champagne, white and antique pink. Marie looked breathtaking in a beautiful bridal gown by Personalised Weddings Couture; while her bridesmaids wore dresses featuring Swarovski beading. They were married at St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church surrounded by friends and loved ones. A celebration followed at Doltone House, Sylvania Waters where Marie and Theodore made a dramatic entrance. “We really wanted our bridal entrance to excite and buzz our guests, so we worked with our DJ and created a one off mix. From the moment we walked out with our song, fireworks went off and we were followed by Lebanese drummer, bongo and bouzouki player. That instantly got people onto the dance floor.” One of the highlights for Marie was the moment Theodore surprised her with an adorable gift at the reception - a puppy. “We walked onto the dance floor, he covered my eyes and all I could hear were our guest’s reactions and the “Awww” and “Ohhh” sound effects. He let his hands go and I opened my eyes to this beautiful little puppy sitting in a white basket eagerly trying to jump out.” Marie and Theodore agreed they had never laughed, smiled and danced so much all in the one day and their wedding day was truly the best day of their lives.

NIKKI & STEELE by Sarah Kate Dorman Photography Steele suprised Nikki with a plane ticket to Palm Cove on Valentines day. The next night he hired a rooftop with private waiters and champangne and then popped the question with a ring he designed himself. Relaxed and full of life with lots of greenery was what Nikki and Steele had planned for their special day. A reception by the water at Matilda Bay reflected this perfectly styled with white roses and greenery throughout the reception and in the bouquets. The reception was a big party and the day was made even more fun with twelve of Nikki and Steele’s bestfriends in the bridal party.
“One of the best parts of the day was finally seeing Steele at the end of the altar with all our loved ones surrounding us” Nikki enjoyed a relaxed morning getting ready with her mum and bridesmaids and even putting her flowergirl to sleep a few hours before the wedding commenced. One of the many special moments for Nikki was “putting on my beautiful Pallas Couture dress. It was designed by the lovely Joy and Bec and it was such a beautiful process watching my dress being created every week.” “One of the best parts of the day was finally seeing Steele at the end of the altar with all of our loved ones surrounding us - very surreal and beautiful moment” said Nikki.

NORMA & MICHAEL by YazzenPhotography
When Norma and Michael got engaged and started planning their wedding day they chose a date that had significant meaning to them. They were married on their fifth anniversary, which conveniently fell on a Saturday. With Norma working in the wedding industry this gave her great exposure to many weddings and themes. When it came to her own she had envisioned a “beautiful white and bright wedding” and they both agreed on a white wonderland theme. A beautiful floral arrangement was positioned on top of the bridal table “It consisted of branches and had beautiful orchids hanging from it, like frost and snow trickling over the top of us. We also had a sequin table cloth
64
covering the whole main table to add to the white winter wonderland theme.” Norma also stood out at the reception in her Leah Da Gloria gown in a latte shade. “My favourite moment of the wedding has got to be seeing Mick walk through the front door to greet me. I heard the drums and could not contain my excitement. I was dancing and smiling so big my cheeks hurt! He walked in and a rush of emotion swept over me. It was the greatest feeling. Although it did not stop raining the whole time, it was the most amazing day of our lives and the whole experience was our favourite moment!” said Norma.

CHALINE & JHONNY by Phao Photography
Chaline and Jhonny came together with close friends and family to celebrate their love for one another. They were married in a traditional ceremony at St. Charbel Church “the ceremony meant the word to me having my first cousin as the priest who married us, the words he shared will stay in my heart forever.” Chaline looked breathtaking in her custom Steven Khalil gown embellished with lace, while Jhonny looked dapper in his Zimma Tailors suit. Their day was classically beautiful in every way and they described it as “the most blessed day of their lives.”
70
A celebration followed at The Grand Paradiso with their guests. While reflecting on their special day, Chaline said “each and every moment of the day will be cherished and never forgotten.” When asked about advice for other Brides, Chaline said “Embrace your day as a beautiful celebration on love, remembering to enjoy and take in each moment. You all spend a lot of time and effort planning, be confident in your choice of suppliers and things will run smoothly.”
