Cipriana Moore Sophomore | Undecided “Redundant. It sounds like a peer mentor. It’s understandable that freshmen need someone like them to transition into college, just not several of them.”
Junior | Nursing “Novel. It depends on the student. I took a success seminar class my freshman year and it was helpful. If students struggle their freshman year, they need the assistance and reminders.”
Sophomore | Music “Redundant. Reminds me of a peer mentor, even though it’s not assigned, students can choose to utilize the many resources UA has to time. Along with many other services such as tutoring.”
Freshman | Mechanical Engineering “Redundant. I feel like we have been told the same thing, several times. Even as an honors student, we are reminded yet again of how to function as freshmen.”
Freshman | Mechanical Engineering “Both. I feel like we’re being told the same thing from advisers and resident assistants. It’s kinda new to have someone beside you along the way, they’re oriented towards freshmen.”
Te’Shar Commodore Freshman | Social Work “Novel. Not every student is the same, some may need all the resources that they can get. We are new, may not be aware of all the resources, tips, and reminded of what we were told at orientation.”
