Vantage at Vasse is nestled in the heart of the Busselton region and is just a stone’s throw from the vibrant Vasse town centre.
At completion the National Lifestyle Village will consist of 206 contemporary homes, built over four key stages.
THE TEAM
Stage one features 49 sites and is currently nearly completion, while stage two which included the civil works for 39 additional lots, was recently released.
A dedicated team of four staff from Richard Hammond Architect first started on the project in 2016, producing the initial village master plan.
Together they worked with Smith Constructions to design, document and project manage the construction of the state-ofthe-art clubhouse facility completed in 2021.
Plenty to offer The village features a mix of one, two and three bedroom homes, which have one or two bathrooms depending on the design and budget.
The gated community supports independent living whilst providing residents with access to multiple common area facilities, including a dedicated clubhouse, indoor heated swimming pool and spa, cinema, gymnasium and a full length bowling green, just to name a few features.
Residents can relax and unwind in the clubhouse’s lounge room and enjoy a drink or two in the two bars or get comfortable beside the beautiful double-sided fireplace.

The formal dining room and community kitchen are ideal for any large event, while residents can also entertain guests in the adjacent clubhouse gardens, which features Western Australia’s first dedicated pickleball court.
There is also plenty of fun to be had for the competitive types in the games room with pool tables and darts aplenty.
Learning from experience National Lifestyle Villages Development Manager Andrew Watkins said the vision for the development was based around timeless architecture.
“Our projects have an indefinite operational lifespan so in future years we need this village to present just as well as it does today,” he said.
“A big part of this is a material palette that will age and weather gracefully and styling that doesn’t lend itself too much to a single point in time.
“The materials and landscaping we opted for were inspired by the limestone coastlines of the south west as well as the native flora you’re likely to see in local bushland.”
Mr Watkins said the team had also learnt from many years of experience what works best in similar lifestyle villages.
“The homes and in particular the clubhouse have been considered and designed so that no matter what your age, there is that wow factor,” he said.
“In order to achieve the aesthetic we were after we reached out to State28 Interiors who were doing some great things in both the commercial and residential spaces here in Western Australian.

“Their execution of the brief was outstanding and the way they worked integrated seamlessly with the project architect and superintendent Richard Hammond who championed the project.”
Location, location, location What’s not to love about the locate on of this National Lifestyle Villages over 50s resort.
Residents will feel like they are on holiday all year round with Busselton’s immaculate beaches right on their doorstep.
The village is also a hop step and a jump away from dozens of world-class wineries and restaurants, as well as the spectacular scenery, the region is known for. Each home within the village is complemented by easy, low maintenance gardens and features undercover parking. Richard Hammond Architect Principal Richard Hammond described the village as the perfect place for relaxing, meeting others, partying, exercising, dining and dancing.
“It was a project we enjoyed greatly,” he said. “Good clients, great builder, all united in producing a good result.”
